  • painkillers like Morphine and Codeine as well as Amphetamines in them

  • Comment removed

  • yeah it's either dextroamphetamine or something like modanifil. Probably not methamphetamine because it's so intense

  • Wow the USAF has pretty secret stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • The bypassed item is a suicide pill. Seriously.

  • The bypassed item was probably crystal methamphetamines.

  • The secret item is posion. If u r captured and do not want to be tortured u just eject yourself and pop your die nicely!

  • @05koda its a survival kit, why would u want to put some suicide pill in a kit which is designed to keep u alive? but i believe its some drug.

  • @05koda Plus, u dont need a suicide pill if u have ur M9 Beretta 9mm.

  • No, the thing he hides is a pain killer, usually a pretty strong one like morphine, or in the modern day codeine or hydrocodone. We are talking about a pilot who has ejected, or even has been involved in a crash, not always a painless process. Although yes, stimulants like NoDoz is often in the vest as well.

  • @abraxsis NoDoz? Yeah, right. Try methamphetamine. Why else could he not talk about it? Actually, you can find articles on the net about pilots (since WWII) being given the option to take mild doses of meth for long ferry trips (across the Pacific, etc.), long CAP stays (18+ hours in the seat), or multiple missions in a row (staying awake for days at a time). It's not something the military likes to talk about. It seems logical to put it in a survival vest, too.

  • @ianmanfredsengensen2 It's not meth. They use less powerfull amphetamines which serve the same purpose but are not nearly as addictive. You dont want your pilots to be addicted to a very deadly drug do you?

  • Shouldn't have bothered with the tape over that portion of the radio.

Yup, if you Bing it; you get uncensored pics of the PRC90 radio.

  • i bet it is provigll or some kind of stay awake pill because the last thing you need is to fall asleep behind enemy lines. Plus i could of also heard my uncle take about it when he was in Vietnam. But who cares.

  • When I was in Civil Air Patrol we visited Fort Dix and had a sit down with a pilot and some other crew members and they went over one of these vests in detail. They pulled things out and had us answer some questions about what each item was for and how it might be implemented, whoever answered the most won the boonie hat in the back. I still have that hat and it was my favorite event of the 1 week boot camp with CAP.

  • I' m military too; I'll tell you what the secret item is. It's a vial of Chuck Norris's blood. It can only be used as a last resort because no human can survive more than an hour after injection without a complete blood transfusion.

  • @sempergumbyusmc Hahahaha! :D -- Veri

  • No Knife ???? ....

  • It's probably cyanide capsules in case the pilot prefers suicide over capture.

  • Bypassed Item is LSD to keep you awake on sentry duty or what not.. XD. You forgot the obvious use for a tourniquet...Bondage XD

  • y can u tell us wut the thingy is? is it classified?

  • @EmofacePS3 its l.s.d.

  • not at liberty to show i thought this was america land of the free ironic isnt it

  • Steroid type pills, which taken in emergency situation would boost humans organism and keep him going for a week sleepless, doing everything possible to get out of enemy zone.Who would ever put suicide pills in a survival vest? This vest is made to survive, not to commit suicides, lol

  • suicide pills

    jus sayin

  • bet he barrowed the airsoft gun from tactical doodle

  • the bypassed item i belive is methamphetamine. if you crash behind enemy lines you don't want to stop and sleep.

  • @darenbarnes are you serious?

  • Finger lights come in handy when you don't want to flood the cockpit with light, while flying using night vision devices. Typically used in lieu of lip lights, which would be mounted on mic booms. This is not the best place for a light when people might be shooting at you from the ground, and you're flying at less than 500' AGL. For this reason many military helicopter pilots consider them more tactical.

Interesting to see how our USAF counterparts load their vests.

  • How about you just get a GPS and scrap all those signaling BS?

  • The finger light allows the pilot to use a small amount of light that can be concealed. A head lamp will give better area lighting but can be seen by the enemy. The finger light can be hidden while in use. This is very useful for map reading. The packet shown at :25 is prescription amphetamines.

  • Sponge for water gathering...never would have thought of that. Thanks for the info!

  • why not a leather man

  • i am gona look for one of those compases

  • 8:14 is that guy hanging him self?

  • @rikuwillkillu rofl

  • I'm glad that he keeps things about the radio and other bits quite. some people don't understand how much it could jeopardise are survival if we ever have to use it.

  • the bypassed was viagra and condoms cause you want to be ready when the time is wright

  • item that isnt discussed=cyanide pills

  • @9700541 no its not its either codeine pills or morphine and could be Amphetamines also

plus they dont need cyanide pills when they have the m9..

  • @bl1nd88 Yes I believe its morphine tabs!

  • all that. id be happy with a vitorinox and and some water cleaning tabs ;)

  • I wonder if there are good survival pistols out there? I mean, anything better than an M9? A PDW would be nice, but it could be heavy, though.

  • Owen Wilson?

  • If it keeps the pilot alive, thats what matters.

  • Okie Dokey! I wore a vest, Navy version, for over 20 years. Sounds like a rubber.. Whatever you'd like to call it. Not certain, but still an uncomfortable subject to discuss the alternatives.

  • I spoke with a pilot that told me exactly what that "secret" bag was, and I agree with the Nutnfancy, nobody needs to know what it is out of preservation of security and safety of out pilots, as this video also happens to be hotlinked to foreign countries aviation forums.

Just know this, it's in a survival vest and it's a survival item to keep the pilot alive. That's all anybody needs to know.

  • @RacerXGTO I think it's gold

  • lol not to be an ass but the way you say signaling sounds like 'sing a ling'

  • they give them dope for fun. that's the the bypassed item

  • the Air Force gives thier pilots Adderall and Ambien, called Go and No Go pills. A Canadian Foward Air controller got bombed by mistake by a pilot who was wound up on Adderall. My money says the thing he couldnt show you was Adderall

  • the Air Force gives thier pilots Adderall and Ambien, called Go and No Go pills. A Canadian Foward Air controller got bombed by mistake by a pilot who was wound up on Adderall. My money says the thing he couldnt show you was Adderall

  • The bag he can't talk about most likely has Morphine sorets in it, in case you break a limb during bailout, you can keep going without the pain

  • goed

  • -The black cover on the strobe light turns the light into a infer-red beckon so it does not give of light but can be seen by the rescue chopper

  • A Prick 90! Thats old school! but I'm not at liberty to share this with you LOL Kinda comical guy.

  • Why mention what you cannot discuss?

We get it. You"ve been in the military.

  • Ps man, I'm not beatin on you.

You obviously know a great deal.

Just maybe keep the faucet on low as to not drown the people.

  • @adidasc3 to avoid the dozens of questions about an item he takes out and DOESN'T discuss. At least he's honest.

  • Good thing to have the inspection tags in the vest, you'll know who to haunt if something was missing. :-D

  • the saw is for cutting of limbs

  • I never go out in the woods without a mirror... LOL!

  • it is a ir becon or a radeo becon

  • yeah i was a medic in the USAF and that man below is right...the classified bag is highly likely to be a stimulant. The gas mask bags also have two adreneline based shots if you need to leave quick.

  • y is sunscreen such a big deal

  • @BottlecapAnonymous because you can use as a lube lol

  • I have a compass exactly like that except it doesn't have tritium in it. The compass is just as good (I know because I've used both) but there is a price difference of about $50, so you're paying a lot for that glowing arrow.

I have one of those manuals, except it's white. They stopped using the white one, so you can buy them from survival and surplus outlets.

  • The unmentionable bag is most definitely some form of stimulant, most likely methamphetamine. They used to issue them in world war 2 so you keep our troops/pilots more alert so they fight harder and longer. It is also fairly difficult to OD on meth, despite what all those anti-meth ad's say(it's safe). I'd also say it might have a decent supply of a strong, opiate based painkiller, something like heroin or hydromorphine. It could also be cyanide tablets, but lol.

  • god im seeing thing that i use to play with in my dads old air force foot locker

  • 6:00 m 9 is one of the worst pistols ive fired . its to heavy to big ,and just anoying to cary around. and if any one coments saying weight dosent matter. than you dont have a job in the military or law enforcement.

  • at 7:57 i have that same survival guide its great very helpful and imfornative

  • maybe arsenic in case of capture.

  • Now that I look in the video description, use the only thing not mentioned was the fire starters

  • At :25 it is probably just a pinch of crack, for breakfast!

  • ejecting into a fate worse than death it could be sianide.

  • Better not tell anyone about the IR Beacon.

  • What's his face, lol.

  • That bypassed item was alien blood from area 51 and it gives you superpowers.

  • oh they also had pain killers like morphine etc so it could be a narcotic pain killer.

  • alot of the old vests etc had enerjet (nodoz) so im guessing its an amphetamine

  • i've read that elite usaf pilots prefere glock 19

  • I'm sorry....an airsoft m9? that made me laugh!

  • was that secret stuff maybe amphetamine to keep U awake and sharp? I know that soldiers that fly long distances are given amphetamine for those reasons.

  • @roossi its coke

  • Nutnfancy if you could please please please give so me the model number or more info on that survival guide in the vest so i could track it down.

  • the bypassed item is high grade pot :)

  • Is the bypassed item a suicide pill?!?!?!

  • @Docbrown777 I know for a fact it was.

  • are you 100 percent on that

  • 99% the Royal Air Force in britain carry suicide pills.

  • wow...crazy didnt know that

  • its not suicide pills, for a start you have a pistol, if you wanted to take your own life, the pistol can do it. An item with usage for the sole intention of committing suicide would not be allowed. Pilots are not elite special forces units, they have suvival training including escape and evade. but also tell you how to cope if you are captured. I can tell you for a FACT, that 99% of RAF pilots do not carry suicide pills, dnt listen to this guy, Im also not at liberty to say what it was

  • Heh, I know them compasses. Not the same model, sure, but it was heavy-duty. Same pouch, too. I was instructing some other students on its use and... Well, I didn't do very good because we got the wrong azimuths most of the time.

But, trying to flip through SMCT-21-1 and doing it on the fly isn't the best idea. Excellent if used properly, though, at least in the accuracy department.

  • the frequency is 282.2 MHZ and for the beacon 243.0 MHZ

  • how useful do you guys think facepaint camo is really?

  • u can buy those GI compasses, but they are a bitch to find

  • Comment removed

  • @SthealthRaider we aint f@#$in in nam

  • It was just an situation! that situation can also happen in afghanistan

  • tru

  • @SthealthRaider

No knife in the vest because a pilot always carries one on his leg or belt. I though this should be common sense by now.

  • That mirror with the star hole is awesome. You don't need to see the reflection to aim it. I can't figure out how it works, but it's worth the extra money.

  • He knew people would look it up. *He's wouldn't have mentioned it at all if he didn't want people to look it up.* And as previous people have mentioned, all this info is available on the net. Quit speculating.

  • Scott O'Grady... Bosnia... "The F16 Dude."

    Great story.

  • There's a biik Behind Enemy Lines about that.

  • awesome--great job

  • 0:25 is tablet meth to allow you to be alert without food or sleep for long periods of time. Shoot a guy could have a good time in Vegas with that setup. :)

  • Not meth, it's an amphedimine, like Adderall.

  • Same drug though right? I'm pretty sure it is. Probably a different dosage and slower absorption. Combat pilots use it all the time when they fly combat for long periods of time or fly across hemispheres. I believe an American pilot bombed a bunch of Canadian guys in Afghanistan, and it was blamed on the meth he was using to stay awake. Militaries of the world have used meth since WWII. I think a lot of the German atrocities on the Eastern front were the result of hyperagression from meth use.

  • yeah.... no.... totally.... THAT was the reason for the atrocities committed by Germans... now I know. I always thought they were "just following orders"...

As an aside, amazing how many people think that the "secret" item is a "suicide pill"... There is also instructions and a speech, translated into 7 languages, English version is like this:"Prospective captor/torturer. Stop. On behalf of the USA gov't and all the freedom loving people of planet Earth I command you to wait while I unwrap

  • my secret suicide pill from a ziploc bag on a string inside one of these here pockets which you will let me rifle through at liberty before attempting to further POWlize me. I will not use my gun, which can be drawn a fraction of a second because millions of youtube viewers would be really disappointed. I will now suicide me self with my secret pill located in my SURVIVAL vest." There is a true piece of TOP SECRET weaponry I just disclosed right there and its IN THE SPEECH!

  • The last line actually ensures the enemy would be captor will die before taking more than 3 steps of SHEER IRONY. Take that, enemies of freedom!

God...why can't you people respect what this guy is trying to do? He is not at liberty to discuss certain things, he never said they are top secret, just that HE can't tell you about them. Ever occur to you that he is not an OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED USAF PR person? At least not here, in his vids? Not at liberty to speak FOR the USAF in his youtube persona

  • Sorry about the tirade, I just can't stand it when people can't appreciate things they would otherwise not have access to and act entitled, lack respect for a man who has devoted a huge portion of his time to share with total strangers really cool, really valuable pieces of his life and knowledge and experiences...Nothing pisses me off more than when someone offers you an inch, and instead of saying thank you, you bitch and whine that it was not an inch and a quarter. A little common sense guys

  • meth... amphetamine

  • yea, but meth has more than just the salts. Amphetamine is a dirivative.

  • @DoubleZer08 Amphetamine is not a derivative of methamphetamine, amphetamine is a broad term for many stimulants. Adderall contains amphetamines, and so do some diet pills. They vary in strength. I could believe that pilots are sometimes given amphetamines, but methamphetamine is overboard and a different reaction from our body. This is kinda like saying that the doctor gave you heroin (which is just acetylized morphine) for a sore throat and not typical 2.5 mg/ml hydrocodone cough syrup. Crazy.

  • @TalksWithDirt I heard this stuff also makes people very talkative

  • @aseglkj If that were the case, what a ironic trade off the person has to make in using it...........

  • @TalksWithDirt I doubt it. Meth causes paranoia and a downed pilot does not need any added paranioa. Sleep is essential for keeping our wits about you.

  • @Robbob9933 But that's after extended use. As in use after addiction sets in. Weeks to months right? If meth were that debilitating nobody would be able to use it. I was under the impression that at first a coke or meth user are very good drivers, hyper alert, and very responsive.

  • @TalksWithDirt Being that Nut was able to 'check' this vest out to give a demo it is likely in for inspection or in inventory. Access to these vests is restricted but not exclusive. If there were meth in there the temptation would be great to 'borrow' it. In the past pilots have been given mild "keep awake" stuff on long flights with radio silence but never anything like meth of benzadrine. Both are addictive after a single use.

  • @Robbob9933 The ability to check out the suit is a very good point, and def a big strike against my meth conjecture. I'm def no expert, nor do I speak from experience, but can any drug be addictive on the first dose?

  • @TalksWithDirt Of all the variations of what is called 'speed' benzadrine and methanphetamine are the most addictive. Meth and especially crystal meth (ice) are generally considered single event addictive. The higher the quality the greater the likelyhood. If you are a watcher of these videos, the meth and crack addicts should on top of everyones keep away from list.

  • @TalksWithDirt Yes, I used to be a substance abuse therapist, and have had patients that took something and it was "love at first sight/toke/hit/shot/whatever".

  • @combatjm89 Wow, hard to imagine. Then again I don't understand people going crazy after being drunk. It's not like anything has been a life changing experience. Except landing an airplane, that's really fun. I guess some people are effected differently. Not to mention I've never taken a narcotic, so really I can't talk.

  • @TalksWithDirt lol your my savior, i was like damn....now i have to go all week without knowing what that was. thankyou

  • that f16 dude was owen wilson, these radios are always on ebay too.

  • Drugs??? @ 00:25 :P

  • my guess would be cyanide capsules or some other suicide pill.

  • WHAHAHAHAhAHAHAHAHAHAAH :P XD

  • "GodBlessGeorgeWBush", just because he didn't told what's those 2 things are, you start to abuse. that's poor man! nobody forced you to watch those vid's!?

i would love to know too what's in that litle bag but it didn't happen so what!? maybe it's just a damn chewing gum, who knows!

  • nutnfancy, is it QR powder?

  • The right, above the hip, pouch seems like an injury pouch.

  • i have that manual at 7 55. they issue them once they are like 4 or 5 years out of date

  • Has anyone ever seen a button compass? It is two coat buttons, a bottom one with a pin and a top one with a magnet. The top button is placed on the pin of the bottom one and used as a compass. The only one I have ever seen was on the Oak Ridge Laboratories website, they said it was used by the RAF during WWII and had radioactive markings to be used at night. I would like to find a modern one.

  • I have a complete Vietnam era survival vest.....inside there is a vial with about 4-6 government issue Methamphetamine pills. Is it possible he isn't showing us something like that.

  • its something you apply to a large wound to stop bleeding. its for trained personnel only. i don't know why he showed it here

  • I thinks its likely some kind of first aid item, that only trained professionals, paramedics, and other people trained in its use can be relied upon to use it safely and properly without doing more harm.

He probably didn't mention what it was, so that viewers wouldn't get the idea of including such an item in their survival bag, and end up using it on themselves, and getting themselves hurt (being untrained).

  • my buddy whos jus got out of the airforce says there are a few things that are hush hush in the survival vests. he wont even tell me what they are. scared as airforce pussies. lol.

  • "the secret thing" isnt a suicide pill or anything like that, y put a suicide pill in a SURVIVAL KIT

  • lol ur right. a suicide pill doesnt exactly scream survival

  • criss brunette

  • The para rescue teams are some of the best trained servicemen in the military.Comparable to any special forces operators in the world, just not as highly known as say the navy seal's!!!!Man I love our military!!!The best in the world bar none.

  • CRO combat rescue officer

  • Do a compass video maybe? I really dont know what to get for a trip in a few weeks (alright, i weekend in austria in a forest about 10 miles away from habitation, so i would just walk if my gps fails)

  • was the mystery bag a suicide pill?

  • its pills to kill yourself

  • wrong kimosabe its morphine

  • Yep.

  • they should put some food in it that has salt sugar and carbs. and also some way to get electrolytes into your water.

  • Anyone know where to buy the survival manual?

  • What type of cord is used as the dummy line?

  • lol the secret package is poison pills i bet

  • Can't talk about that one package. Could be a few condoms. They have a few uses, beside keeping the solders moral values intact. They can be used as a water collecter among other uses. Don't need to leave your DNA behind after you rape and pillage.

  • lolol

  • what branch of military were you in?

  • what is that item in 00:26

  • He said he couldn't discuses it. Probably something that gives our fly boys a bit of an edge...aka something we don't need to know about. If you're that curious, join the air force!

  • A quick question about the vest, how are the strings attached internally? Just curious, putting toghether an lbe

  • What price point do you look at for a real GI Lensatic compass? I'd like to get one for my Bug Out Bag. Does anyone know a good civilian source for one?

  • You can easily find a Genuine G.I. Military Lensatic Compass model with a phosphorescent dial, it's really good but it has no tritium dial, those ones are actualy hard to find.

  • Now really, go to Cabela's or USCav and they are pricy, but they're there.

  • 0:22 - It's coke, don't even play dumb.

  • yup, i defenitly is!

  • For real? Why? As a stimulant to keep going, I guess?

  • I am not sure why people feel the need to figure out what the "mystery item" is and post it in the comments. I believe he is leaving it out for a reason. Perhaps it is not super secret information but he does not want to be the source of that information. I think it would be wise to respect his desire and not post that in the comments. That way we may see more videos of this type
