lilmellen and a couple of others understood what the problem was. conflict of interest and also outright lying, virtually always a reason to fire someone. we are not talking about working sales during the day, and working in some other non-industry like music and fashion, then she wouldnt have fired him. he had said he was going to quit a similar position with an competing company and he didnt. a lot of teens are complaining, but when you enter the work world you will learn this.

I feel sorry for the guy who got fired. But I doubt he'll have any problems getting a new high paid sales job. I worked for two companies for a a couple of months and both of my bosses knew about it but neither one of them thought it was anything wrong about it. I brought in shit loads of money to both of them but they weren't competitors or in even the same field so I guess it didn't really matter to them.

I think that what's wrong with it is that he's got info on one company and info on another and advertising for both. Many companies can make you sign all kinds of confidentiality agreements and 'non-competition' agreements to prevent divulging company secrets, or keeping the competition at bay. From a business end, it makes sense, and is totally legal.

This isn't a conflict of interest, it's dumb luck. This woman was clearly butthurt when, much to her surprise, she found that her star employee was someone elses as well. I don't really give a shit about her story, it's the fact that a 40-something year old woman who owns a business and likely makes decent wages got a free laptop.
