  • thank you guys so much, You help me out alot

  • thank you so much! autoshop off base wanted $350 for the job, and you showed me how to do it for $100! saved me $250 bucks for a job that only took 1 hour, mainly because i had to figure out what i was doing and such, again, thank you so much!

  • @byrdSumPK Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.

  • Yea you helped a lot brother tnx

  • Great video, but my problem is that the window is stuck almost all the way down and the bolts from the regulator that attaches to the window are inaccessible. I cannot pull the window up because it will not budget. any suggestions?

  • After reversing the wires in the connector attached to the widow motor, all was right with the world. Up was up again and down, down. Thanks again.

  • Mike, I just wanted to say thanks for the video series. I'd been using a Haynes manual for the 96' Camry I'm working on, but your videos are FAR more helpful! After installing my new regulator and motor from AAuto, I was a bit surprised to find the new motor working in reverse. Should have tested it before I put the panel back on! I'm guessing either the motor wires have been crossed, or I plugged it in backwards. Just a heads up in-case I'm not the only one with this problem!

  • You freaking rock, I was about to pay 300+ to have this done by a mechanic. I'll just do it myself now.

  • Great, clear and helpful video!! Unfortunately, like MrRazorback, our window is stuck, but in the down position. We just can't seem to make the window budge and can't reach the bolts. So we've gotta cut the cables, huh?

  • @catgil3 in a case like this, it would probably be your best and easiest bet, as you're going to be replacing them anyway with the new regulator

  • Excellent video. The only thing lacking I think is instructions on what to do when the window is in the up position and you cant get to the bolts on the regulator. I just changed one and had to cut the cables from the old motor to free up the window. It wasnt easy at all and was the hardest part of the install. Anyway....great job and thanks for the video.

  • I have a 2dr 95 Cam and I'm replacing the driver's side regulator/motor. I've unscrewed the window from the rack, and I'm trying to remove the whole assembly, but there is a thick bundle of wires attached to the bottom of the main vertical bar. The video shows nothing of this, and I'm stumped as to how to get the wire bundle detached. HELP!

  • Is it pretty much the same for a 2dr 95 cam?

  • @djfrighte Yes it should be pretty much the same.

  • @1aauto Thanks, I figured it out. For a 2 door there are 3 additional screws on the underside of the panel and a bolt behind the bulb holder for the door open light, requiring you to pop out the holder. That one had me stuck for a while.

  • @1aauto Just a note, my 92 has the courtesy lamp in the door and there is a well hidden screw behind it that must be removed before the door panel will come off. The lamp assembly comes out by pulling and prying around the edges.

  • i was having the same problem as @basskillaz. i replaced the the regulator and motor. same problem. that did not resolve the issue. it still will only go down, not up. could this be a wiring issue?

  • is it the same for a manual regulator?

  • Great video! I was wondering if the window motor HAS to be taken out with the window regulator? Or can the regulator just come out by itself as one piece. I have a friend who needs just the regulator replaced, and was wondering if both have to be removed as one unit or not. Thanks for the video! I would have no idea how to do this if it wasn't for this video, thank you :]

  • @KKFan9 They need to be removed as one unit. I recommend replacing the motor and reg together as well. If their reg is bad it has probably stressed the motor which makes it possible the motor could fail soon.

  • Can i install a power window on a manual regulator door?

  • @jucaro31 You CAN, but if you want power windows, it is a lot more of an undertaking than just installing the power window regulator. Wiring, switches, door panel all need to be created/changed/altered. Unless you are restoring a classic, in my opinion it is not worth the hassle. Easier option is to sell your car and buy one with power windows.

  • @basskillaz Most Likely your window motor is weak. I'd recommend replacing the window motor and regulator.
