Der AMG wurde von Schickentanz und Heyer gefahren! Das war - anders als dieses Ford-Video offenbar suggerieren möchte - kein Mercedes Werktsteam, sondern ein Privatteam mit nur 1 Fahrzeug aus der bis zu diesem Rennen völlig unbekannten Tunergarage AMG! Geschlagen wurde der Wagen nur vom Werks-Capri und zwar in der Boxengasse, weil der AMG 6.8 viel mehr Sprit und Reifen verbrauchte... sonst wär die Sensation noch perfekter gewesen... Na ja, seither ist AMG ein Begriff.
