  • Very nice it looks like Huron in a storm. As a kid our parents had a cottage on Lake Huron- the summers were great but the winters are polar-like. Lake Huron can also get very rough when there is a N.E. wind.

  • I grew up right next to lake superior. It really is an interesting lake.

  • I grew up in Oulu, WI, about twenty minutes from the south shore of the lake, and the storms and wall clouds that came off it are like none I have seen since. The whole south shore is made of either rocky cliffs or mud banks, gorgeous the whole way.

  • Cool thing about Lake Superior is it's a failed continental rift valley - the largest failed rift on the planet - so its geology tends to look wilder than the other great lakes. The gulls hang out in the surf looking for confused fish ...

  • The most dangerous time here in November when The Witch of November rolls in.I live in Wisconsin about 90 miles from Lake Superior.I believe she is around 300 miles long.

  • I am heading up to Chequamegon Bay for the Fourth of July. The biggest freashwater bay in the world.Lake Superior really is an inland sea.

  • great vid, lake superior has the most beautiful water as far as the color it puts the ocean in Florida to shame. It is so clear and blue just amazing. I am going on vacation in august to Munising to see the pictured rocks which look amazing ok enough of my imput.

  • Check out the Lake Superior Magazine

  • Look at that mud line! I bet the pike and walleye are feeding like crazy!

  • Local interessante!!

  • i heard lake superior was very clean, is it true?

  • yes Lake Superior is very clean. You can see 20 feet down and drink the water. It is clear and cold and fresh. It is also very beautiful. You need to check it out and check out the mountains and rivers, water falls, forests, you will never forget it.

  • I believe you i've seen videos where it looked like water from the carribean before, are you sure you can drink it hough?t

  • @yoshi2560

Yes it is a fresh water lake.. people eat the fish they catch from her.

  • Ahhh..Lake Superior. My favorite place to be. My husband and I go there every year to camp on the shore in Two Harbors. My family went there every year also when I was a kid as well. I love it when the lake is just how it is in this video...

  • wow can u see other side of the lake?

  • Not from that area, I think there are some parts of the lake that are narrow enough across you can see Wisconsin.

  • well have you not loged in in months or something? i rote that comment 3 or 4 months ago?

  • Yeah, pretty much. Its taken me a long time to catch up on my comments. :)

  • @TippmannHawk

    LOL!

"Lake" Superior is an inland SEA. She is over 350 miles long and a breadth of over 160 miles. She breads weather, fog rain snow storms cyclonic blizzards and hurricane force winds. yes you can see the other side... if you are near one of her tributaries. But the answer for intents is no. She is bigger than south carolina. plus some.

  • @TippmannHawk hell no you can't see the other side of the lake, it is hundreds of miles, can you see hundreds of miles?

  • Hey you give scull?

  • From Mpls as well, and tour to Madeline Island every 4th of July. Got caught with 26FT travel trailer in that huge storm waiting in line to get on the ferry to get to Bayfield. That was the storm that took down much of the forests. Not a fun day when I thought wiper blades were going to get ripped off backwards. Lake Superior's best of.

  • thats a lovely place to go to! Id love to go to america!

  • this remindes y'all even u caffeinatedangel about the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald which split in 2 and sunk in a terrible storm.

  • i've heard of it, my grandma told me about it

  • Yeah, that was definitely in my head as I was watching this storm - though I'm sure the forces the lake threw at the Edmund Fitzgerald would put that windstorm to shame.

  • you people suck, thats not a storm. i live on lake superior and that is what it looks like on a daily basis

  • Hey great video. I would love to go and see the great lakes one of the most interesting parts of North America, its hard to imagine such vast inland seas of fresh water amazing.. I must put it on my to do list and visit one day :) Thanks

  • they are pretty amazing to see.

  • You should definitely see them. They won't disappoint you. They are amazing to see!

  • I love a storm from the shore of Lake Superior. If that's where you live, you are very lucky.

  • Perfect for surfboarding and wind sailing.

  • The big lake, she is a beuatiful...one of our great wonders those lakes.

  • Greetings from St. Paul. I have several relatives in Duluth who have many fine tales to tell of the Big Water.

  • Nothing like a Lake Superior storm - never forget the Sept. 1988 storm that nearly destroyed Presque Isle in Marquette.

    Check out our LS projects

  • Boy do I miss being up there!

  • Is there any land near there for sale?

  • Sorry I haven't been on this in a while - actually I was just up there again last year and there seem to be lots of plots of land available along the shoreline.

  • Not a good day for swimming in Gitchigumi.

  • Now that's the big lake Gitchigumi that I remember. Thanks for the video and memories of long ago and far away.

  • You're welcome. You should come back. It misses you, I'm sure. I may be biased, but I think its the most beautiful lake in the world.

  • are you shore thats a lake coz it looks more like the ocean

  • sounds like someone who has never seen the Great Lakes

  • lol nop iv'e never seen a lake that big
