The new series has stretched the doctor's emtions and never more than this episode. I've watched it about ten times so far and it still gets me: John Smith's innocence and confusion and love are so beautifully written and protrayed, his anger at find out that he was created just to be destroyed when it suited the doctor ... who shows his alien-ness by casually suggesting that Joan travel with him, the one who killed the man she loved!
AWESOME!!! Song choice is perfectly matched with this vid. 10/10 Made me sad though coz he was crying! for the first time he was properly crying! I gotta see this episode right now!

the sad thing is that they may not have been happy even if he had stayed, the war would start the next year and he probably would have had to go.

There was something incredibly innocent about John Smith that broke my heart. The Doctor won in the end though. Love this please make more!!
