@iamLizardJohnny You could seriously try Crafter SEG450 or Crafter SEG450. They are not carved like this one but laminated but they are 25.5 scale and they sound as good as guitars twice their price.
The fact that the bridge has double the output as the neck doesn't necessarily mean it's a big difference in volume. To me, higher output usually just seems to break the amp up more. Strangely, there isn't that big of a difference in volume to me.
@MyHeartBeatsRnR Tatsächlich werden Reverends in Deutschland verkauft: von Taranaki. Leider nicht in vielen Läden, aber wenn man Andy Ebsen anmailt, hilft er gern.
This is a nice brand. I'm glad I've been introduced to them thanks to PGS. Nice sound, nice price. Gonna have to grab one of these Revs down the road this year.
Hagstroms are imho little more than good epiphones. The tone and volume pots on the one I tried didn't work that well, and the neck shape had a certain crudeness to it, which I find to be the case on a lot of mid priced instruments.
@adamd320i Ibanez models such as the Jet King and their hollowbodies are very well crafted instruments, whack on some decent pickups and you have yourself a great guitar!
They should, in my opinion, do the guitar reviews with 3 common amps. Some Marshall head, a Fender and an Orange perhaps? I would get a much better idea of how the guitar sounds that way.
I friggin love Andy's rhythm playing! Are all those riffs and melodies his own ideas? Rarely he throws in a bit of Led Zeppelin or other famous band, but most of the playing seems original bits... Wow!
I got my wish... oh lucky day! I was just on the PGS website checking out the Manta in tobacco sunburst and wishing they had a demo of Andy taking it through its paces. I, too, am loving the selections from Framus and Reverend. The ol' lady always has me add a guitar to my Xmas list. This might have to be the one. This or the Framus Hollywood Doublecut. Decisions, decisions...
@Guitarvirtuoso666 Sorry for the newbie question, but what does "k" stand for (it does mean 1000, right? but 1000 what?), and what does it mean? Is that referring to the output of the pickup?
Would the fact that one is a lot "hotter" than the other make it a much more versatile guitar?? Isn't that the point of having a Strat and a Les Paul, to have one with hot pickups and one without?
The difference between a strat and a les paul goes a lot further than only pickup output, but other than that, wether or not this guitar is more versatile depends on your taste.
If you like a little more roar out of your bridge pickup, then yes. If you like a bridge pickup that is just as clear and clean as the neck pickup, then no:)
Not a nit, but that Tone King amp makes most of the recent guitar reviews sound very similar with that very pronounced crunchy mid-tone. Maybe all the guitars recently have an unusual amount of mids, but I kind of doubt it. Still Andy rocks the house with these awesome demos.
@ArielsSmartyPants not exactly. I guess it's mostly due to Andy's finger picking style. He could get similar tones with a Fender DRRI + some dirt boxes. Guess it's true when people say the tone is all in your fingers. Haha
@ArielsSmartyPants it isnt out of the question to think all those guitars have really prominent mids. he's been using almost nothing but reverend's guitars lately and they seem to be real fat sounding. just sayin.
@LainOfTheRealWorld I would agree with you except I know these guitars would sound very different from one another played through an old Marshall say. Humbuckers vs P90s are usually a big sonic difference don't you think?
i think that 50% of tone of that guitars are from Andy's fingers, seriously. Love your channel guys, it's always great to watch some new things. Cheers.
That guitar has a nice sparkle to it I love.. And its affordable? I love how you guys are showcasing stuff we can actually spend money on. Come winter break, I know what I'm spending my money on... Oh and.. first?
I played one of these with a b7 through a ac15 at Elderly and it played very nice

6,5 neck, 13k bridge pickup is a too big gap for me:)

@Guitarvirtuoso666 The resistance of a pickup does not say that much about his actual loudness

@jondawg123 Kilo Ohm. it refers indeed to the output of the pickup:)
It's always good to have a little hotter bridge pickup, because the strings vibrate weaker in that position.
but 13k to 6,5 k basically means almost double the volume/gain:)
Guitarvirtuoso666 4 months ago
@Guitarvirtuoso666 awesome, thanks for explaining!
