good actor, good press interview. Maybe it's because I got a lot of respect for this guy, but some interviews just stick in your head better and longer. And this is certainly one of 'em.
has anyone noticed that in these interviews the guy who took the first question, he always asks the stupidest and most akward questions that the actors/actresses dont know how to answer
We only became aware of Philip through Capote, being hooked on his performance, we started to collect his other movies on DVD. After watching him in "Owning Mahoney", "Twister" (as Dusty) and "Capote", we realised we had no idea who he really is.
I absolutely love this man. He is my favorite living actor. I would throw Daniel Day-Lewis up there, too, but I like Mr. Hoffman's movie choices better than the ones Mr. Day-Lewis goes for (There Will Be Blood was fantastic - Nine, not so much).
Who is asking this idiotic question about gays and hookers for women? For me this is nonsense. Why shouldn´t someone who played a homosexual or a hooker for women win an award? And how many times did this happen, anyway? Some journalists are wrong in this profession.
I sadly got to know this actor just a while ago. Now i have watched many of his movies and i have to say, he is the most talented and best actor there is. His acting is so super...
It is such a pleasure to watch his movies. In my mind he is one of the most talented actors of our generation. Tremendously gifted and down to earth at the same time. A star in the best sense of the word.
Oh God, I find PSH so overrated...Since Heath Ledger won every other award for his superior performance in Brokeback, losing the Oscar to PSH was highway robbery.
I found Heath Ledger great in Brokeback Mountain. I found him an amazing actor in every film he was in. I thought it was robbery too. Just recently I saw Capote, and I saw why PSH won. He was brilliant; I forgot I was watching him, thinking for a brief, strange moment that I was watching a video of Capote himself. That's what Ledger pulled off in The Dark Knight. PSH is an amazing actor; just because you like Heath more doesn't mean PSH is less deserving.

I find Heath Ledger to be a more compelling & nuanced actor than PSH...I was truly shocked when Ledger lost for Brokeback Mountain...it's rare that I get angry about some awards show, but it's been over 3 years & I'm still pissed when the subject come up!
Right, saying that Heath Ledger won all precursors for Brokeback Mountain when he clearly didn't is not a lie./sarcasm
How is it pathetic or creepy that I reply to you? If you don't want any random individual to reply to a comment you posted in a comment forum, then here's a simple solution for you: DO NOT POST ONE.
And no, I don't have a problem with Ledger being mentioned, I have a problem with stans like you posting lies to make Ledger look like an underrated acting genius, idiot.
All you've done is post inaccurate and false statements to support your "opinion" and then get mad when I call you out on it, why don't you just accept that Heath Ledger did not have a chance to win over Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix and that he did not win any major precursors for you to think he had a chance in hell of winning?
I respectfully disagree. Like I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion. The Oscar buzz is that the Academy will reward Ledger for his Joker role, partly because they didn't give it to him for BM. Funny that PSH is also nominated.
Taking Ledger out of the debate, I have never enjoyed PSH on screen. I can say that he is my least favorite actor. First saw him in Scent of a Woman & found him unbearable to watch. Nothing has changed.
PSH played a gay man in Boogie Nights. It was such a small role but I never forgot his performance in that movie. I was really rooting for him to win an Oscar for Capote.. truly a master of his craft
hes brilliant. has anyone seen capote!? he COMPLETLY transformed himself. amazing actor. i have a feeling this guy is gonna win a 2nd oscar in the future.
philip seymour hoffman is incredible as truman capote. definately watch it if you get the chance and don't mind slow-paced, artistic film. one of the best i've ever seen.

I loved Heath's role in Brokeback Mountain. In fact, I thought his role in THAT was even better than his role as the Joker. Though both were great.
However, in every way, Hoffman's performance as Capote blows Heath's Brokeback role clear out of the water. By far.
