  • @6:18 How TVs have changed since 1978!

  • Comment removed

  • Gene Snook was very lucky! He ended up with almost $44,000 including back to back wins on "The Big Numbers"! Alex Trebek did a fabulous job as host of "High Rollers".

  • Love this .

  • I'm surprised Gene snook won over $30,000 in one show of The New High Rollers!

  • Did anyone watch Tonight's episode of Jeopardy! when they show a Classic photo of Alex Trebek hosting the early 1970's version of High Rollers boy "HOW QUICKLY THEY FORGET"

  • Id pay good money for that three piece suit Alex has on

  • 7:15 - Gene: ANYTHING OUT OF THE BOX

    [Rolls Double]

7:22 - Alex: Aww Gene! I don't wanna play with you anymore! You're getting to be a pain!

One of the more classic sections of dialogue I've heard in a game show...PERIOD!

  • I preferred the 1974-1976 opening when the word "HIGH" floated upwards and the letters in "ROLLERS" all rolled off the tv screen.

  • I remember watching "High Rollers" as a kid!

This was back when Alex Trebek looked like Burton Cummings (of "The Guess Who"), with the 'stache and 'fro!

  • I will also say the Trebek version of High Rollers as well, because just like Card Sharks & Family Feud, the original version was the best!

  • Actually Alex, That Big Board has a Total of $19,008 in Prizes.

  • As part 1 of 3, this show was aired on NBC daytime Friday, May 19, 1978.

  • When Kenny said THE NEW.

  • What is your favorive version of High Rollers of all time the 1978-1980 Alex Terbek version or the 1987-1988 Wink Martindale version.

  • @32rodrick I like the Wink Martindale Era. I want to see High Rollers on GSN.

  • @32rodrick I like the Wink Martidale Version.

  • @32rodrick I grew up watching Wink's show on USA reruns as a very small kid, but I think I'll stick with Alex (and his 'fro).

  • "Gene, you're getting to be a pain! I DON'T WANNA PLAY WITH YOU!!!"

Man, did Gene get lucky. :-D

  • Thanks for posting the whole episode! This is a treat!

  • Thank you for uploading this. I love the 1978-1980 version of HIgh Rollers

  • Two words to this show: Dope intro. I always wondered how the intro was when I heard only the audio.

  • Oh. My. God. Enough said.

  • Is this the premiere episode?

  • No, it isn't. Gene was already the champ as he returned. What made you think this was the premiere?

  • @mtiller2006 This aired 5/19/1978. The premiere was 4/24/1978.

More proof: how could there already be three full sets of prizes up on the board? And what about the match being in progress?

  • @mtiller2006 Nextbarker's question is not necessarily a bad one. If you search for match game pilot here on youtube, you will find the pilot where they actually claimed they had a returning champion, obviously it was just to make the pilot more realistic. This of course is NOT the case here.

  • Epic Game. nuff said

  • He really is the luckiest man on earth; even with one insurance marker still intact.

  • Couldn't be more unbelievable Gene!

  • I have the same episode from the same person you got it from.

  • Why can't Alex be this energetic on Jeopardy! Nothing against Alex, nor Jeopardy. Just wondering.

  • Jeopardy is a serious quiz show, you have to be serious there.

  • A $19,008 game, but I betcha there were three full columns that were worth more than that through the series.

  • it wouldn't surprise me
