Fuck the Atari 5200! My paddles broke a month affer I got it when I was a kid. If it weren't for the NES, I never would have another video game ever again.
I still have my Atari 5200 purchased in December 1982 (an original 4 port system) but I admit it is much easier to play most of the games with an emulator using a digital control pad on the PC. The games were just so difficult to play with an analog controller.
5200 is powerful hardware, but the controller was all wrong for games designed for digital controls. Would have been great had there been games designed to take advantage of it's analogness. There were only a couple. It took a bazillion years until the release of the N64 before the analog stick came back.
It was just that the majority of titles were arcade games that are more suited to digital controls. Analog back then was not as good as it is today, also the 5200's controller couldn't recenter so that was a major problem in games like pac-man
Cool. I have the volume 2 of this tape. I was going to make some of the game segments into vids. Especially the Atari E.T. one because everybody want's to know how to beat it :)
Oh man just when you thought they were going to show the games they end it. That guy was a little creepy and whats with those kids staring at the screens like they were mindless robots?
WOW...A Vectrex, they are usally quite rare becouse of the systems high price, lack of solid game titles, and by the time it cought on the video game market had literally disapeared overnight...Still a nice system thought!
Here's a preview of the titles *video end*
Aww COME ON! I want to know what games i can get for these awesome looking new game systems X(

And now the analog stick is with every system? Did we move back a step in technology, or was the analog stick a space-age invention?

The angry video game nerd bashed the 5200 to the ground, why does anyone want to know how to play it if the controls don't function?

corky415 4 years ago
Those were all the systems that were released in 1982, so the Intellivision doesn't count.
