@Amilah2010: The song is one of the traditional songs which have been sung during the water puppets' shows since the 11th century. I'm a Vietnamese but I've never been to the North, but I guess this is a song belongs to Bac Ninh province. I'll tell you when I find out. Thanks for liking our culture !
@Amilah2010 Sorry, I don't know. Perhaps a viewer who knows the language and culture can answer your question. I'm just an English-speaking tourist! (I like the song too.)
@Amilah2010 Hi, the name of the song is "Mục Hạ Vô Nhân" sung by Pham Van Ty. The title of the song is in HAN - VIET, so i guess this song should be very old and no one today actually know who is the composer. If translating the title to English, it is "beggar's song". this song was taken from the albums" The Music of Vietnam, Vol 1.2". If you like this song you may also like other songs in these albums. you can buy these albums from Amazon. Cheers
Merci maman! Vietnam, c'est un pays tres beau. Je me suis tres jouie de mes voyages la! (I hope my French is not too ungrammatical. I learned it in college 50 years ago and seldom have a chance to use it!)
@PLBrayfield just more informations about the song if you are interested. this kind of music is called "Hat Xam", it appeared about 700 years ago in Tran Kingdom era. The legend said the person who created this kind of music is the Prince Tran Quoc Dinh, one of two sons of the King Tran Thanh Tong. He was harm, blinded, and abundant in the deep forest by his brother because of the Throne. To survive, he sang these songs to beg for food... by then "Hat Xam" is usually sang by blind beggar.
@TKNMT Thank you! I found your comment very interesting and informative, and perhaps others who view the video and read the comments will also like to know this, as well as the information about where albums of Vietnamese music can be purchased, which you gave in another of your posted comments above.

@Amilah2010 @Amilah2010 The beginning song is called "Mục hạ vô nhân" - a song of Xẩm (a kind of Vietnamese folklore singing). I'm happy you liked it!
