Saw them perform last night, they did a great performance and Axl hit every note. No musician can perform a song the exact way another does so if you go to a G "N" R concert expecting them to sound the way they did with the original members you will be disappointed but if you judge the new lineup by the performance itself they are very talented. For everyone who hates G "N" R but yet still are looking up their videos, reading others comments, and posting insults GET A LIFE!

i'm really amazed by all the comments about the vocals here. Would any of you release an album where the singing sounds like shit? Most likely not. It's an album,know matter who it is their albums are all polished.
@TheRockLover1000 Well, I don't have perfect pitch but I do have a good ear since I'm a musician myself of many years. Though I doubt it even requires any experience with music to spot it. The whole album is just ridiculously overproduced. I have heard the live performances and it sounds a lot more organic there (and better), which was in part what sparked my comment.
@completebastard I have a pretty good ear myself. I do agree the album is pretty overproduced and there's lots of layering there, but there's no autotune itself. It might be the layering that causes you to think so.
@mikedoles Yes. It's not always as obvious as some musicians (mostly in hip hop) make it. The amount of pitch correction is adjustable. These days it's pretty standard vocal editing but sometimes it's more obvious than others.

This album and song especially would have been ten times better with the real GNR members! The end of the solo, sounds like a mix of Vai, and Van Halen, but doesn't quite do it for me. Great song though, and I love Axl's voice in this song!
Axl sounds just as good live as he does in his recordings. The only time I have ever heard in slip was during the downfall of GnR. I agree, personality wise he's not a shining example of a cool guy, but performance wise, he can barely be touched.
@guitarfreak9177 I've never seen him live myself and I don't know if the audio in video distorts his voice in any way but he does not sound as good live from what I've seen :P. He misses a lot of high notes and just sings out of tune A LOT. I've just watched this very song live and he can't do it like he did it in the recording. And while I know I'm gonna get bashed for this I stil felt the need to express my oppinion :P. Axl is a dickhead, but he's an amazing singer and talent.

I don't know... I consider freddie mercury as THE best recording and live singer of all time (BTW. Did you know he was also Axls idol?) and I've heard all of his live rocrdings (well most of them :P). He actually sounds better to me live than in recording because you know he can't sing that high yet he still stays in tune. But comparing axl to freddie is like comparing a pea to a wattermellon for me :P. Axl is good but I don't like him much live :)
People say Justin Bieber's voice is all edited by computer and all that to make it sound better. If you listen to Axl's voice here and then listen to it live you will realise that his is too and so is every heavy metal/rock artists voice.

Not true. It's easier to get all voice effects right in a song when you're in a studio and recording it 10000 times over and over again until it gets right. No computers. In a concert... you as a vocalist can't sing perfect.... you have to think about stage movement, stage posture, etc. And you get one shot. It's basically impossible to sing better in a concert than you do on the fucking album. And the most frequent thing you fuck up live is voice effects. Then idiots say u use computers.

axls voice is just freakin cool....all that shit about been an average band now..whatever...axl still rokcs bigtime!..Guns and Roses will go into history as on of the biggest coolest freakin bands ever....they hardly make music like Gn'R music anymore.,,although i prefer the earlier records..this still good!

this is alright, definately reminds me of "estranged" or "breakdown" but it just doesnt have that extra umph of the original gunners, he needs to rename the band so people view the music in a different way

This album and song especially would have been ten times better with the real GNR members! The end of the solo, sounds like a mix of Vai, and Van Halen, but doesn't quite do it for me. Great song though, and I love Axl's voice in this song!

Axl sounds just as good live as he does in his recordings. The only time I have ever heard in slip was during the downfall of GnR. I agree, personality wise he's not a shining example of a cool guy, but performance wise, he can barely be touched.

@guitarfreak9177 I've never seen him live myself and I don't know if the audio in video distorts his voice in any way but he does not sound as good live from what I've seen :P. He misses a lot of high notes and just sings out of tune A LOT. I've just watched this very song live and he can't do it like he did it in the recording. And while I know I'm gonna get bashed for this I stil felt the need to express my oppinion :P. Axl is a dickhead, but he's an amazing singer and talent.

@winnetouch True,and your right. I think being a true rock singer would be hard everynight of the week,or just about. Recording are always going to be perfect,but what makes it real to me is that axl,you know sings it live and you know it's live. To me that is what makes him one of rocks best singers of all time. I've seen him live and sometimes up sometimes down,but it's live and
I like him for that. Great comment on your part though! I sing and I always thought as axl as one of my idols.

I don't know... I consider freddie mercury as THE best recording and live singer of all time (BTW. Did you know he was also Axls idol?) and I've heard all of his live rocrdings (well most of them :P). He actually sounds better to me live than in recording because you know he can't sing that high yet he still stays in tune. But comparing axl to freddie is like comparing a pea to a wattermellon for me :P. Axl is good but I don't like him much live :)

@skywalke88 Actually I went to the GNR show in the 02 Dublin, didn't sound a think like he did on Chineese Democracy. Still as I love GNR I wanted to see them. The show was a disgrace and was stopped like 10 times in between.

Not true. It's easier to get all voice effects right in a song when you're in a studio and recording it 10000 times over and over again until it gets right. No computers. In a concert... you as a vocalist can't sing perfect.... you have to think about stage movement, stage posture, etc. And you get one shot. It's basically impossible to sing better in a concert than you do on the fucking album. And the most frequent thing you fuck up live is voice effects. Then idiots say u use computers.
