  • Don't you actually loosen the strings to G?

  • hey man thanks for sharing. could you demonstrate to us how to tune it to open G? thanks!

  • great lesson, thanks

  • Tuning my low E to G was scary?

  • Hey friend, I had to come back from my guitar playing to say THANKS for posting this! Nice quick lesson on a great song!

  • good job !!

  • very nice. wonder if we could pull this one off live - one acoustic with open G no problem - wondering about the other guitar part.

  • I'd rather not tune my low E up to G can I tune all my other strings down instead and use a capo somehow? It's more confusing but better for your guitar. Should've kept my cheap strat copy for this shit.

  • not a bad lesson! i had one of my guitars already tuned almost to this way to play stuff from Soundgarden's Superunknown album!

  • it would be great if someone outlined the chords and rhythm and stuff...

  • top vid mate! didn't realise it was so easy and it sounds great....impressing my mates now thanks to you....cheers :)

  • u can play this in standard tuning by playing an a chord, taking of your ring finger then b4 the verse starts just take ur index and ring finger off leaving ur middle finger on the 3rd string

  • you are really good

  • beautiful job

  • I owe ya for that one,man.

  • the tuning is called "g modal"

  • it's pretty easy actually. just need to correctly tuned the guitar to open G. thanks mate!!

  • actually im just wondering, maybe a dumb question but im just trying to figure out different tunings. am i tuning up on both e strings and a string?

  • @schwill81 Usually Open G is DGDGBD. But instead of tuning your low E to a D, Raise it up 1 1/2 steps to G making the tuning GGDGBD. I think he is saying to leave your high E in D like standard open G. So basically you raise your low E to G, drop your A string to G, keep the D, G, and B strings in standard, and drop your high E to D, which makes a G chord when played open.

  • Dude you rocked this song.

  • sorry dude im a beginer. can you give me the strumming pattern

  • by the way, what's the tuning?

  • thanks man.. good job

  • love youuuuu!! thanksss! Ive been traying to figure it out for years!! very clear.. thanks again!

  • hey can you slow down the strumming pattern and do this vid again

  • very nice and clear to understand. Helped me alot!!

    THANKS

  • Dude, it's awsome. Thanks! Greatings from Poland!:)

  • Thanks man!

  • What kind of guitar do you have?? because i LOVE IT!

  • you rock man

  • Thanks man, I finally found somebody that helped me with this song. I did not know about the different tunning. Really appreciate and keep helping us.

  • Not to be a stickler...but I see this incorrectly referred to as an Open G tuning over and over again. As you know, in Open G tuning the top string is tuned to D. As you correctly point out, the tuning they use here does have the top string tuned to G, however, this tuning is actually called "G Modal".

    That is all...move along. :)

  • thanks for sharing the lesson, does anyone have the strumming pattern ?

  • Thank youu!! :)

  • So you strum three times open, then your 7/5, then slide to 9/7 on the same strum as the 7/5?

  • ma CARRRGAAA cuando se ponen a hablar pendejadas! cállate de una vez y toca la weaa!!

  • absolutely brilliant mate are u like in a band or something if not u should b keepm it up

  • Perfect. Thanks a bunch!

  • You play it well.

  • well im confuse XD

But go ahead, you're very good : D

  • Hi, I have the same guitar, could you tell me if you get it set up? And if so how often? How much? Or do you do it yourself? Thanks.

  • I just tightened the truss rod i bit after a couple months but apart from that it doesn't seem to move. ;-)

  • @underdog7676

Hi, tx for your lesson! I'm trying to play Daughter in this moment. I've found that this song comes easyer if you tune your guitar in GGDGBD! Try and let me know if u want...

    See ya!

  • @jimmipax that last D makes it sound great! thanks

  • Who makes that guitar? Sounds great!

  • @davec3487 Yamaha CPX900 mate

  • Wow, finally figured out how to play it! Thanks to you sir.

  • amazing man, keep rocking

    congrat

  • Thanks for the feedback. I played it in standard for years aswell :-)

  • good job

  • in your video (that is)

  • We really enjoy this lesson buddy for it really makes playing this song easy!! Your guitar looks stunningly beautiful and sounds great in yout video also!! My wife and I really enjoy this one, thanks!!

  • Thanks :-)

  • wait so the tuning for the first two strings are in G or you put two G strings in instead of low E and A?

  • I didn't change any strings, the E and A are tuned to G.

  • ahaha yea i kindve figured that out myself after hahah sorry for the dumb question lol

  • thanks nice one

  • @TextEffect 9's will work fine. It's the low E string that is brought up to G and it can get quite tight with mediums. Another solution is to put 2 A strings on the top. :-)

  • nice guitar

  • Thanks for the feedback.

I don't actually know how to write strumming patterns. In this song I think you should accentuate the downstokes. Sorry if thats not helpfull, I play intuatively and don't analyse my playing all that much.

  • love your work

  • thanks

  • super!!! yayyy thank you! :)

  • thanks

  • just what i was looking for.. thank you sir. i play by ear but had a hard time with this one. peace peace
