  • Sorry about the abrupt ending!!!!

  • I love this version of the song! Really, LOOOOVE it!

  • @ChrissieBana I love it too. This was recorded on October 19, 1969 at a club called End of Cole Ave. in Dallas, Texas. But it was only released by Mercury in September, 1974. It's a miracle the tapes survived, considering that so much else was lost at the time, unless there is stuff sitting in somebody's attic. It would be fun to know what musical treasures Lou Reed has in his basement, and what photos or film clips exist from the Factory days that we haven't seen yet.

  • @ChrissieBana And don't you just love Edie? Can you believe such a wonderful girl ever existed?

  • this is one of the best versions of this song with lou on vox great thanks very much

  • @acadx Thank you! And doesn't it go perfectly with Edie?

  • @acadx Yes, it's the coolest song about the finest girl ever.

  • This song is from 1969: The Velvet Underground Live, and it was recorded in Dallas, Texas and San Francisco, California in 1969, but it wasn't released (by Mercury Records, as a double LP) until 1974, then re-released in 1988 as two separate CDs. This song, I believe, is from the Dallas gig. I love the power of that guitar sound!
