Should be. As long as G is constant. They are only throwing it up a few meters up in the air and it shouldn't vary by any significant amount. I think G is 9.802ms^-2 there.

@ noobs center of mass becomes the center of gravity when the object is under free fall.
This experiment proves that all objects/ system can be treated as a point mass at the center of mass. Duh!
