@nibbler125 yes, all these old saws are gear reduction. The transmission also swivels to cut from side for falling.

well see, I was pretty close anyway.. the reason it didnt go through the log faster was because IT HAS NO SPIKES. just like the description above states.. clinton didnt make a saw till 1952.. Oh and why dont you try putting a 6 foot bar on that idy bidy clinton and see how it cuts then.

How about a 5 footer on my mac sp125 kart eng saw? In a 6ft dia red oak it never changes pitch when u bury it off in there.
