Yeah George was there at her funeral and he was also present in the front row with Tammy's then widower when the stars all sang to her --- it was televised with Wynonna Judd singing How Great Thou Art. I watched him cry during the whole thing. Everyone is capable of change - he is an alcoholic and he had a terrible temper. She loved him and forgave him over time and they had a good connection in the end --- that is what is important.
@DammitDrag has no idea what they are talking about. George DID go to Tammy's funeral, he went to the private one, for family and friends ONLY. The one you keep saying he didn't go to was a public memorial for the fans. You really need to get your facts straight before you bash people on stuff you have no idea what really happened. If you have some truthful stuff to say then say it, otherwise keep your false opinions to yourself and stop ruining the comment section of youtube for the rest of us.
As far as I am concerned George will never love anyone else as much as he loved Tammy. He can deny it all he wants to, I see it in his eyes and he trembles when anyone discusses her. It was not just sex that kept them together. It was so much more and George knows it. So does Nancy.
Hi Barb-"A lifetime of Regrets" I agree with what you said but what do you make of George always saying that they never should have gotten married, it was because they loved the way the other sang and I don't like how he sometimes refers to Tammy as that "other lady he was married to"
Reply to jonesissaved:.George is a Great man, but lets face it, he has to say whatever his new wife wants to hear. Truly, we all know he loved Tammy so, she left him he didn't leave her. His heavy drinking and his temper sent her packing. But they always had a special "magic" about them. You could see and feel it. George jokes around alot, he used to call Tammy his favoritie EX Wife all the time, or the other lady. His way of humour. Barb
@hockeystickbd GEORGE LOVED TAMMY FOR SURE I ALWAYS THINK HE HAD A BROKEN HEART AFTER HER BUT SHE STILL LOVED HIM AS WELL BUT JUST COULD NOT LIVE TOGEATHER HE IS THE GREATEST COUNTRY SINGER I JUST LOVE HIM SO.
@hockeystickbd DO YOU SERIOUSLY KNOW HOW STUPID YOU SOUND. DO YOU KNOW GEORGE JONES PERONALLY? DON'T TALK ABOUT THINGS YOU HAVE NO PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF.
i remember when they were splitting up tammy responded to one of george's drunken insults by saying he was a "chronic complainer" and i never forgot her classy restraint - she was the model and the mold was broken!
@MultiCountryboy101 I never thought to look but I might find it .. i was watching tv back in college or thereabouts and it was a hot topic. Maybe an interview or news item in a magazine - it should be somewhere i'll post in another reply with info when or if i find it.
I totally agree. They had great harmony on their music, and were definitely the King and Queen of country duets. And even tho they divorced they loved and respectd each other until the end! Anne
I agree also! Funny, I do love George Jones, but without Tammy, his music isn't complete....I never saw a concert with Tammy and George, but that had to be a treatz! George, I've seen through the years....he's a great singer/songwriter/entertainer! Keep singing George!
I saw Tammy in a Concert in Anaheim, California and she was so good. Her stage hands came out carrying this HUGE Bra and she yelled "Oh, no, you got that off the wrong blonds bus!!"
She probably was sick. Supposedly impacted colon like John Wayne. All the prescriptions take their toll. Although her death is still considered mysterious by many if you follow some fan sites.
The only mystery is how she stayed alive so long considering how much ABUSE her body took. I'm guessing ALL those guys beat her up and she just took it.
there is always 2 sides to every story.... they both have books out telling their life together. only one makes sense, read them and find out and then make a comment

It is a shame that Alcoholism and drug use destroyed that marriage. I am glad that they were able to remain friends up till her death.

I really believe this holds true for The saga of George and Tammy .. Erika

I sincerely believe that George did love Tammy all the way to the end and still loves her today in memories. They were great together.

They got a kid together too, Georgette Jones, she's got 2 lil boys now and the youngest one looks just like George Jones.
SARAHH213 3 years ago 2
How can you tell which one is the youngest? Her boys are twins.
RatPackFan88 2 years ago
she and the boys both told us who was older, and who was younger.
SARAHH213 2 years ago
Damn, that was fast! Ok, I was just wondering. I've never seen them, so..
RatPackFan88 2 years ago
They're good kids, and really down to Earth and polite. I had no idea that their granddad was famous until they said their mom's name.
SARAHH213 2 years ago
To be fair, their Grandmom is famous too. LOL Thanks!

@MultiCountryboy101 She was at Knox's Berry Farm and it was in 1978 or 1979, because we lived in Orange County back then.
