They were investigating Iraq's possible weapons programs. They were often denied access and stonewalled, which would suggest that Saddam was hiding something. But no determination was never made aout the existence of a chemical weapons program. Hans Blix was the UN weapons inspector and said that the evidence of WMD in Iraq at the time was "rather weak".

I know what a Constitutional Republic is, it can also be call Democratic Republic and basically it means the same thing. People elect their representatives but the word is largely meaningless now, so using the word Constitutional Republic is indeed more accurate. What I was arguing was that the fellow claim our elected representatives are elected by vote, they a put there in charge by the elites or whatever dark forces.

Read this. Lincol had several senators arrested for speak against the Union's war against the south. FDR suspended the constitution for the duration of the WW2. Bush has done none of that; his administration has persecuted people, especially of Arab nationality suspected of collaborating with terrorism. The prisoners at Gitmo are prisoners of war and not US citizens, therefore lacking constitutional rights. We have had prisoners of war before, especially in WW2 & no one gave a dam about that.

1. Bush was not elected. He was appointed by a republican Supreme Court who did not support a recount of the ballets in Florida. Our own government makes other countries conduct recounts if they think there has been any corruption. Bush's own brother was the governor of Florida.
