I revisited this game and played it lot. See the updated video from Retro Mondays, I remembered how to play it. Using items, how the lev up system worked etc. Before judging me, watch that video, it will put your doubts to rest. Thanks for watching this video though.

I can't believe you didn't mention that this game has badass music as part of the good points. And the bosses are all very easy and fun except for the final boss, she's a bitch. That's the only boss I can say is pretty difficult only because you would be drained of your health and mana at that point.

This is truly a great game. All games are inspired by other games....so to say that it took something from another game is inaccurate. Most gamers prefer something such as a harder difficulty or a second quest as well.

utter fail dude... Like everyone here said: the point of the game is to gather the items that come from when you kill a monster. The vials restore your mana and allows you to use the special spells which you get from defeating bosses.

IF you can't do a proper review of a game, without having misconceptions then your just another simpleton who never does any real research about a game, just plays it and automatically expects it to suck so he tries to find the worst points of it .

Well, I really enjoyed it over and over again, thanks to the MAJESTY-KNEE! And especially the music, considering I enjoy the game also from the music, I think it's worth at least 8. Yeah, there's a lot of bosses, but hey, you defeat them, this game is winnable and besides of other gimmicks, it's really worth it, right? {=3

I liked this game more than Castlevania or Ninja Gaiden back in the NES times. I think it's lack of popularity is due to the fact it was realeased pretty late, when SNES games with superior graphics were already dominating the market.

It's one of the most underrated game ever!

Even tho it has a lot of story misleadings and other glitches,the music and gameplay are awesome!

The kick feature is greatest!

maybe i put this game a higher note than yours. i mean, compared to the other NES games this game was AWESOME, i had it (in my NES of course, not ROMS), this one, and Super Spy Hunter, Ultima, Zeldas, TMNT(3), Goal, Wizards and Dungeons RULEZ! ... ohh i forgot.. Sir, seriously, you need to play it harder before u can give good review.

I noticed that you haven't learned the best kick yet...click on the option at the start menu, and there is a demo for all kick tricks, knee is NOT the best.,obviously. (BTW do you know what drops are for experience?)

Also, you said those magic items have no use. Well, the last one to collect can freeze the time for a while and so you can kill the last boss easily.

You don't know this game at all. I know it when I was studying in primary school: You have to collect item for special magic or attack. And you learn new trick from time to time...........no wonder u think it's a average and copy cat game !

This review is almost 2yrs old and I am redoing this review for my DVD. I didn't really mentioning what this game had to offer, like leveling up collecting items and so forth. Reserve judgment until you see the Epic DVD review of Kick Master on my Vol DVD do out later this summer.

I love this game! I'd give it an 8/10 if you've ever played the GI Joe games for NES its kinda that game mechanic. Highly underrated game along with Metal Storm

Also, the overworld map that you mention remindds me more of that of Ghosts mention reminds me more of that of Ghosts & Goblins rather than Castlevania.

Oh you figured that one out? yes some are more useful than others such as the lighting one you use primarily if you were pro. Its Adds Fun and Discovery at an age of digital gaming where all you had was 2D. The guy pooping at you is the game designers flexing their muscles with what they COULD do at the time. Its not decent its bloody brilliant at its time.
