@Accoraptor Three of these trucks work on green-waste in Ku-Ring-Gai, none of them came from Hornsby - the Hornsby trucks are identical, but are from around 2002. URM only bought a handful of the ex-Hornsby trucks and there is just one working in Warringah, the rest are working out of other yards. The Acco and Elite 2 are both equipped with the Cummins ISL, so there is no competition in that respect... makes the trucks more environmentally friendly / cleaner.
@MitchellM15 Kuringai uses Macdonald Johnstons for Garbage & Greens Superior Pak Raptors for Recycling. Hornsby used Macdonald Johnstons for all waste disposal bins Refuse for Reds Recycler for Yellows and Greens.
@MitchellM15 yes I know there is only one old Hornsby truck in Warringah URM it was the one that Veolia used for recycling for Hornsby YCP-613. Its now a spare for Warringah.
@Accoraptor YCP 613 is used on vegetation fulltime these days, it was previously used as a spare. BH 14 LT was another truck we had, but that ended up on its side one day and is now sitting at Five Dock as a spare parts inventory. You seem very well informed mate.
@jatho4 Depends on how big the bin is that you are talking about - if it is much bigger than this, you could still grab the bin, but you wouldn't have a firm grip.
Terrific catch with the American style greens bins! This truck tends to be louder when slamming the bins, kinda unusual in comparison to the other trucks. Thanks for the vid--*****s!
Sometimes on the MJs the arm can get kinda 'loose' I guess you'd say, and it smashes against the hopper edge, which is what the banging is... just FYI :D
Oh you can bet on that... these trucks can get full under two hours! On average you'd only get about 100-130 bins on, depending on how full the bins are.
Dunno, they probably took it from a previous house they lived in?? There's only one size available in this council so must've been taken from another property.
Ku-Ring-Gai's in Sydney, NSW, Australia. I've seen the vids from LA, similar to here except we've got different coloured lids and ours are usually smaller. I read you'll be hoping to post some vids, let me know when they're up... would love to see 'em! :D Nice to have another enthusiast on YT.
I reckon it's the only Aussie council that uses them... just because of how much is produced in the council, a lot of those private bushy properties so extra greens.
I like this truck because it is loud like a Jumbo Jet :)

Is Veolia going to get brand new Dennis Eagles to replaced all the Volvo FL6s?
