Of the first set of dances, my favorite was Kupono and Kayla w/ the addiction dance. Of the second set, Janette and Brandon doing the thieves/pop jazz. Definitely Melissa and Ade's weakest performances this week...

Loved the Addiction routine (favorite of the season), but don't love any dancers in particular. There's no star-quality in this years batch, like last season's.

I'm starting to warm up to Randi after this week. I didn't like her much in the first 3 weeks with Evan however. I guess she's my favorite? Asuka was the only light of hope for me this season. Don't care who leaves/who wins anymore. I just want this season to end and season 6 to start.

y'know i realized, the mom is crazy correct. she predicted there would be russian folk dancing and she was right. this also takes me back to the pro dancer competition on season 8 of dancing with the stars. im beginning to think she's part psychic or something (not really, but she is predicting correctly).

I thought Phillip did MUCH better Wednesday . He's had no dance experience, and he beat out thousands of people who have probably danced their whole lives. But I do agree that he was the worst on the show.

I LOVED Kayla and Kupono's addiction dance. Mia Michaels is a genius!

Randi and Evan are usually my favorites, but they didn't do very well.

Jannette and Brandon were SO good, especially that last dance they did. They were amazing.

But I think Melissa is the best on the show!

I'm sorry, but Phillip WAS good. Jive? I mean, he is a HIP HOPPER. Hip Hoppers dont do ballroom. You have to give him some props!! He looked pretty amazing out there last night!!!! His kicks were sharp, his face showed what the dance was trying to portray, and he assisted Jeanine with lifts...they are always there for each other :) Phillip is one of my absolute favorites so I'm going to defend him. Just thought I'd share my side. thanks.

brandon and janette are no 1 by far. janette grabbed my attention in week 3-5. brandon has been great from week 2-5. i hope they get to the final 4 with ade and cayla (but think it will be Randi). Janette reminds me of Sabra who beat Danny who was a lot like Brandon.

Sooo...I have a theory. I think the judges are particularly HESITANT to honestly critique some of the poorer performances (hello Phillip) because they want to avoid an upsurge in viewer voting for the underdog.

It seems to me that past couples who've received unflattering comments managed to stay out of the bottom three because of undeserving public support.  This reaction has happened many times on DWTS.

Does anyone else think the judges have been surprisingly lenient this session?

LOVE Melissa and Ade. And hoping that Caitlin is safe. Still don't get Kayla. My best case scenario would be Jason and Kayla going home tonight. I know it would never happen (Kayla)...but one can wish! I know the only way Caitlin will survive is if she's not in the bottom 3. Based on who I think will be B3 in that scenario, it would be Phillip and Randi out (and I love Randi!).

Great recap! I too loved Janette & Brandon's tango and jazz routines. Kayla and Kapono's contemporary number was also one of my favourites.

I see Randi & Evan along with Janine & Phillip in the bottom two. I think Phillip SHOULD go home. On the other hand, he would be a sorely missed on the next SYTYCD Top 10 tour. So send Evan home instead.

Janine and Randi are very close but I'd opt to axe Randi (I think). It may come down to their solos for me.

Well on American idol theres Simon cowell who is very hard to please and paula abdul whos very SIMPLE to please so its like a 0 and a 1 which equals a 1

On the other hand nigel and mary Are relatively easy to please, if they get the routine right, so they're both 0.5 that add up to a 1.

besides why would we need someone who disses every routine?? That will just shatter the dancers confidence.

I like a tough critic. If I was a dancer, I'd want some support up from the judges, yes, but I want someone to pay attention to my every move, point it out, and tell me to improve on it. Plus, when Simon 'disses' someone, he's usually right.

Janette and Brandon were amazing!! They've definitely been front runners for a while now, but it still is anyone's game.

I actually didn't think Phillip was that bad in either of his dances, and Jeanine has been consistently good even when he does struggle. Some of those moves he did in the Russian Folk dance are hard to do.

I think they all did a great job this week. I once again don't want any of them to go home.

Thank you for acknowledging Janette and not Brandon. She was amazing and Brandon always get all the praise. She was way better, and is always better in the ballroom dances. Yet Brandon always gets all the praise.
