Let's say a doctor had been performing late term abortions for most of his career and at some point his conscience got to him or some experience with abortion changed his outlook on the whole life/choice issue. And let's say that this event influenced the doctor so greatly that he vowed never to perform another abortion again. Would you call this doctor a flip-flopper for changing his mind for the better of mankind? Of coarse you wouldn't. This flip-flop label is, at best; left wing desperation.

Desperate are some that know Mitt Romney is the only chance republicans have for the White House. Anyone with at least half a brain would flip on abortion, in a heartbeat, if their daughter got knocked up out of wedlock. At least he flipped to the right. There will always be a circumstance that will necessitate an abortion what ever the law is. That fact will never change. The issue is only used for political rhetoric. It's the same as Romney is persoannly against alchol because he's a Mormon. However, he's not going to ban it from the state. He did what he thought was best for the people for their freedom. He was against abortion personally because he's a religious man, but he thought, at the time, that he shouldn't tell women what to do.

That's technically incorrect. It's more like if the Federal Supreme Court made a judgment in favor of murder or a pro-choice stance called Roe V Wade and a politician chose to lawfully uphold it's ruling. They would then be sustaining the law, but not necessarily agreeing with it personally.
