  • I agree with your review, for the most part. You speculate on a few things as well.

  • I had pretty much the same take on it you did. One thing I think Moore gets is that when the U.S. had no overseas competition the corporations could be much more generous. Like you I didn't like the priest interviews certainly the opinion of some Catholic priests isn't in the constitution quite the opposite. Also wondered the back story on the foreclosed people and agree with you it was probably a refinance for mad money. One thing Moore got right the govt shouldn't allow financial trickery.

  • This guy says that you are an adult and you should just buck up and take responsibility. It is interesting that in this country the predatory lending practices have gotten so out of hand that even contract attorneys can't figure out some mortgage contracts. People need to stop watching Michael Moore movies and start reading Aristotle, Aquinas, and Ezra Pound.

  • I've been a fairly enthusiastic Michael Moore fan throughout the years, and must agree with you that 'Capitalism' is his weakest movie. Your blaming Ignorant Poor People (and "their greed") in the second half of the review was awfully cruel, unbalanced, and it seems you have a bizarre personal agenda there. It would have been more interesting to critique the movie in a more dispassionate, factually accurate way.

All of Moore's films have cheap shots & leaps of logic. This one had the most.

  • Michael Moore was summoned by the ruling class because he is their "controlled opposition." They do this so the ignorant sheep can all follow MM, and not someone who REALLY speaks the truth and is a threat to their "system." Farhrenheit 9/11 - good movie, yet ZERO mention of WTC 7, how 3 buildings collapsed by only 2 planes, all at a free fall (controlled demolition) speed. ZERO mention of the tiny impact hole, 1/3 the size of an aircraft fuselage at the Pentagon with minimal debris etc.

  • I don't understand how you can point out corruption in the Federal Reserve and then feel no sympathy for those who lost their homes to the banks. The Federal Reserve orchestrated the sub prime mortgage crisis which led to many people losing their homes. Combine that with other economic factors such as unemployment and you have hell on your hands. Ignorance /= financial instability.

  • Moores agent is Ari Emanuel, Rahm Emanuel's younger brother...

  • I think if Michael Moore touched on anything too uncomfortable he'd have a potassium chloride induced death which would be passed off as a heart attack down to obesity etc.If people have foreclosures because of ignorance and paper signing it's probably down to brain washing and lack of education by the government.I agree about lack of facts etc but those facts would probably be too much for certain powerful groups.Film distribution and the media are controlled.

  • @shadowgeyser lol. what are his fallacies? list them for me.

also, keynesian policies were fundamental is come countries in pulling economies out of depression. im australian, but the massive infrastructure implemented by the us government lowered unemployment, increased consumption expenditure and helped alleviate the output gap of the depression. keynesian policies are very important in shortening severe depressions, he was just the first to articulate them. how do you think they made it worse

  • @shadowgeyser Keynesian economics wasnt even popular during the depression you idiot, Keynes developed his theory during the depression in an effort to find a better way of managing aggregate demand and shortening recessions. And ill take your silence as an admission that Keynesian economics helped america out of the GFC recession.

  • lol i really hope people dont listen to this guy. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA. idiot

  • Comment removed

  • visonvictory, do you have any economic background? Oh, and this is not an attack. I'm just interrested.

PS- I didn't watch the whole video. So if you mention, I didn't hear it.

  • BS.. this guy doesn't know a damn thing about the topic..

  • @xadam2dudex he knows everything. if u talk about economics without mentioning hte federal reserve u have NO credibility.

  • i only got about half way through and i could not stand to sit through that tripe any more.

  • lol "his weakest movie when it comes to facts and sources"... quite an achievement given his lackluster pedigree and economic illiteracy.

wow michael moore has really outdone himself "replace capitalism with democracy"??? hahahahahaha WHAT? what does that even mean? how do you replace an economic system with a political system? what do you have communism but the majority decides where to allocate resources? sounds like a good michael! wow imagine this guy as obama's economic advisor!

  • Very true vision victory, when all is said and done we as individuals are responsible for are finances not the company and the govt, the sad thing about is alot of people will not learn until their house is foreclosed, or until its to late and sadly that is whats happening today.

  • Bottom line corporations are not to be trusted, history proves this time and time again the govt will always take the side of the rich(corporations) over the people thats why unions came into play in the 20's and 30's.

  • smug alert

  • scorch i bet you wouldn't say that about Muhammad. So tell Muslims to get an original thought .

  • Hey UK GUYDOWN . Where do you think that money came from the Gov shitting it out their ass ? It's coming from your freinds, family and yourself in high taxes . And the English Med system is falling apart . The Gov is wanting to priv most of it

  • You watched this movie with blinders on.

  • Just saw the movie on DVD. I like your critique and agree with your points about the movie. Moore could have made a better case against capitalism.

  • The FED is a GOVERNMENT organization...not a private organization. But I liked this video...you make many good points. It is especially true that criminal activity is NOT an example of free markets...it is an example of a crime. Also I liked that you correctly pointed out that the founders wanted a republic...not a democracy.

  • Why listen to Moore or obama or fox news or CNN. Does America think for itself anymore or we a nation of brainless zombies is that what we have become??? Oh my god don't listen to these people because at the end of the day it is your opinion not theirs that matters. A friend of mine once said there is no truth in the news and no news in the truth. Think about it

  • Micheal Moron wants everyone to believe that capitalism is the cause of all our problems. Before you go joining any of these communist groups do some thinking for yourself. Read up on the differences of capitalism and corpratism. Talk to someone who has lived in a socialist or communist country. If you don't do your homework and just follow Micheal Moore/Obama blindly then you are no different then the people that tells us how great Bush was.

  • @frazierp7 you mean talk to someone who lived in a pretend communist nation that has an authoritative or totalitarian government. also Britain is socialist except they call it the welfare state so America would not get angry. Obama is a corporatist and Moore is closer to a socialist.

  • Michael Moore is capitalist himself - which (according to his own views) would make him evil.

  • Your pomposity and huge ego shone right through on this one! Congratulations, you have totally convinced me that you have a dislike, nay almost a hatred for anyone who doesn't think totally along finiancial lines like you do. Essentially in your words 'stupid people' and they all deserved their misery didn't the Daniel. Like the scum that they are.

  • prick and a half

  • I actually agree with this guys review . Very good review. One thing i disagree about the forclosure people because the subprime loans actually increase % to an unreasonable level in order to forclose and when ppl cant pay that they get booted.

  • I appreciate your insight.

  • I think you "cherry-picked" your points for critique far more than Michael did his arguments. I'm not buying your open-minded pretense for a second. You admit that you have disagreed with all his conclusions in the past. Why did you think you might feel different this time? You're just another one of the masses still clinging to the dream who believes that one day you too can be king. You're delusioned. Some may be able to hold on longer than others but rest assured, your day will be coming too.

  • What a smug little prick you are. Focus on blaming people for not paying their bills and not the banking industry for raising interest rates. Don't even mention the "Dead Peasant" life insurance policies being taken out on employees so that employers benefit when employees die or the Vulture realtors making millions off of families being kicked to the streets. Your smugness does a great job reinforcing his argument that capitalism is evil. You too value money over human life.

  • @dethnh82uall

He was right on when talking about the federal reserve. Why do we have a private corporation controling our money supply? We pay the federal reserve trillions a year to print money, you or I could do that for a few million a year. That means the federal reserve is making over a milllion to 1 on their investment. That is criminal, no matter how you slice it!

  • @AreYouConcerned

Agreed. You make a great argument against capitalism as we know it. Who pushed for the central bank to begin with but the biggest banker of the time (Morgan Stanley) & the biggest indutrialist, oil tycoon (Rockefellor). Perfect examples of the products of capitalism. Did you have a point?

  • well capitalism is evil

  • you need a compramise between socalism and capatilsm

  • Ronald Reagan is not that good. He supports Ferdinand Marcos , a dictator. Take good from capitalism, and take good from socialism to have a better government.

  • are you thinking?

  • If you have to take notice of Michael Moore I suggest you read his books. It's still leftist nonsense but at least it's leftist nonsense without the exaggeration and deceit endemic to his films (and he does raise some worthwhile issues amongst the leftist nonsense!!). Also check the book 'Michael Moore is a big, fat, stupid white man' for further details about his deceitful movies. (Or buy the DVD's 'Michael Moore hates America' and 'Manufacturing Dissent'.)

  • hell, put coin slots on the toilets too, right? five fucking cents a flush and if you don't like it, move to NK!

  • Anarchy.

    fuck the goverment.

    I resent them.

  • At last... a person with a brain.

  • "oh boohoo, uve lost ur home cos u were too stupid to pay ur bills"

why are americans so heartless and ignorant?

  • It's not that their stories aren't sad, but we have to be responsible - realize we are going to have downfalls. If I enter into a loan I don't like I am still responsible to pay as agreed. Yes people lose jobs and so forth, but that is life. It is sad & unfortunate, but what is everyone expecting? I have to live in a very small place with my children now, and that's life. I can't blame anyone or expect special treatment. We all have our burdens to bear. Move to a smaller place and start new.

  • I think you all are missing the point. Never in history have people expected so much from others. I have had to move and live in a much smaller place. I decided not to buy a few years back because I didn't like the terms of the loan. A lot of these people who are going into foreclosure got screwed on loans because they didn't care, they just wanted the house. They signed loans with variable interest rates and balloon payments and so forth. It was their choice, and there are consequences.

  • Greed is evil! I think the movie exposed the evils of greed, and how we have become dehumanized. Not paying a bill isn't as simple. Ppl have so much going on, so to say " Oh, should've paid your bill!" sounds a bit out of touch with middle-lower class American lives.

  • The UK doesn't have socialism. On the contrary: thatcherism destroyed unions just like Reagan did.

It's not surprising the elites, who control the means of production, would exploit the proletariat. Marx was right about that after all...

  • Socialism is evil.

  • Your review is very interesting . But I disagree in some points. Like "theevolver311" I point the fact that private Prisons run for profit not for justice. They are made for money, they obey to that logic...to the capitalism logic. I'm for free enterprise but not everywhere.

I agree with you about the fact that too many people lived on credit without understanding the consequences, wihtout reading the contracts....People have to learn how to manage their money.

  • Excellent review .You encouraged my outlook on life.Jesus gave an example of how an employer agreed in payment with a individual .and to keep your word with them.If you cant pay your bills why enter into agreement.God bless you and remember if they are percecuting you they first persecuted Jesus for speaking the truth.this truth has set me free thank you for an outstanding video.Keep up the good work.

  • Que tiene que ver JESUS? AND GOD BLESS You............What is yhis bull shit!!!!!!!

  • stfu with your Jesus crap. get an original thought

  • dude you don't know what you're talking about!!!

i can't believe i fought for such ignorant, selfish, naive, arogant, ect. fuck's like you!!!

whatever YOU stand for ... is NOT what america stands for!!!!!

  • pretty shetty review girl. tell me good points of capitalism and i will shut u up. the movie shows simple people and facts.

  • Here's another comment for you to delete so that you can appear like your preach the gospel with no dissenters That would make about a total of 8 or so just on this vlog that have been deleted..

  • "This guy burns his furniture. He could've sold it on craigslist."

Not exactly..the foreclosure was past the deadline before they realized...so they took whatever they can and had to dispose the rest.

Seriously visionvictory you make this sound like this all very simple and easy but its far complicated than that. I mean agreed with some of the things you said in your vid but it seems like you havn't experienced what these people in movie have been through to criticize them theway you did.

  • "Look, you signed the paper and if you didn't understand it, you shouldn't have signed it! They didn't pay their bill!"

Dude It's A LOT complicated than you think...

-What if someone gets laid off from work?

-Or a husband dies and the wife can't find a job?

-What if Hurricane Katrina puts people out of work?

You failed to mention these in your argument.

  • actually its not.

  • i would disagree with your critique of the privitized prison segment of the movie, the reality is that corporate prisons are run for profit and they invest into lobbist, campain contributions( many judges are elected now) and they have a sway over how are laws are inforced, or which ones are newly written. we have the largest prison system in the world, also the only hi profit prison system.

also you left out the Citigroup memo.

    google:Citigroup 2006: America - A Modern Day Plutonomy

  • Democracy is not an economic system. Moore is a moron.

  • The couch was burned because they had to have the house cleaned THAT DAY and didn't expect the evictio n that day so wasn't much option.

I would have liked more detail into that guy, but his monthly payments were said to have raised from 1700 to 2700 a month

  • nice review

  • The baby-boomers running Government & corporations, come from upper middle class families. These kids went to Harvard & other expensive collages. They learned Free Trade Capitalism & Globalization. They learned how to get "RICH" of Globalization. They call themselves the Golden Generation & believe they are the intelligent upper class that must care for the stupid peasant class. These bastards are TRAITORS! We don't believe in RULING CLASSES! YouTube: LPACTV Audio Preview The LaRouche Plan

  • good vid, sub cuz of it. I have seen a few vids by you along the way but you said a few things i agree with and in a very respectful manner shed some light on this film...

i always wondered why we were suppossed to feel sorry for ppl that lost their house BUT thats what media try'd to do. (removing the <5% that lost it because some tragedy)

  • I thought the exact same thing about the people being kicked out of their homes... "These people did not pay their bills and were irresponsible when they signed on the dotted line". Good review, I thought the movie was entertaining, but you are right.. was rushed and a lot of unanswered questions.

  • Having seen the film, it came across as somewhat muddled and confused.

The idea that Obahma was seen as a threat to the banksters so, pretty late in the day, they threw money at him, is simplistic in the extreme. Obahma was already a Wall Street approved candidate long before this, and all his "change" BS is just empty rhetoric.

  • istn micheal moore argument about rich peopel able to buy out the justicie system. u debat the corruption exist in every sytem. but micheal moore is arguing that rich people have the right and ability and its argued that its ok since democracy and justice system is controlled by capitalism

  • I would like to make one thing clear. Yes Michael Moore might benefit in the end from our capitalist society. But i would believe that he would do all of this over and over even if there was no money involved in the end. Yes he goes above and beyond at times. But atleast he is out there doing something when most americans wouldnt or are ignorant towards the issues around them.

  • Thanks for the review. I do think you missed some of Moore's point's, though. For example the point about the juvenile facility. You say it's not capitalism. Well, it's run by a private company and unlike public facilities, their aim is to make money. People working for a public facility would have no reason to bribe a judge because even if the facility would get some money out of it, the money wouldn't go to the bribers own bank accounts. I hope you understand, my English isn't the best.

  • Michael Moore is a snake oil salesman. Although he preaches anti-capitalism, he in fact exploits the system and benefits more from capitalism than anyone. He makes more money than 99.9% of Americans by beating up what he actually practices. Oh well, we are truly in the land of idiots or this guy would not exist.

  • Why does this guy think he is such an expert? He seems pretty biased to me.

  • Capitalism is not the end all to be all of human though and achievement. The best aspect of capitalism is the free market, which this country hasn't had in over 100 yr. The worst is what is being played out now. To be fair, we can refer to this as "predatory capitalism." Regardless, Capitalism has its flaws, in that does not favor the fair, the best, or the hardest working. In the end it is simply the accumulation of wealth/ power. A good system for a Hobbesian run world.

  • Thanks to the reviewer for the balanced look. One thing I would like to add. I was involved in the mtg industry for 18 yrs. In the last few yrs leading up to the bubble burst, Fannie & Freddie completely changed and lowered their criteria for -loan to value- and -debt to income-. The effect was that many people were able to get loans that they NEVER could have gotten before. Loans they could not afford to pay. Fannie&Freddie made record profits. Then left all taxpayers with the fallout.

  • If you want to hear a stronger case against the excesses of capitalism in the post-Reaganite era, check out Paul Krugman's book THE CONSCIENCE OF A LIBERAL. I think Krugman should have tried his luck at turning that into a movie! The arguments are still not waterproof but they are much, much better supported than Michael Moore.

  • I agree, the arguments could have been a whole lot clearer and preciser than Moore made in this movie.

I happen to be an economist by training and my own views are considerably to the left of the status quo. (Then again I firmly believe that the median voter is also left of the status quo when it comes to economics.) I would love to see the Reagan Revolution largely dismantled.

  • You should feel lucky and privileged that you have a system that covers all, you are a developed, relatively prosperous nation. Your population is not high. You should be looking at ways to improve the current system of course, but scrapping it would be a massive step backwards.

I like to complain too about our system too, but its the same way my Father complains to me. We still look out for each other when the time comes and only do it out of love to help improve each other.

  • I'm not lucky or priveledged at all.

They steal my money for a shitty system, and i still pay extra money for private insurance, because i don't like bureaucrats making my health decisions for me.

  • Wait, you don't believe the elite control our currency? lmao

  • this video is weak.

  • i live in england, we are not a socialist country just because we love our NHS

  • Too bad it's bankrupting you, just like it is here in Canada....

I fucking hate socialist health care, and wish i wasn't forced to pay for such a stupid ill-managed bureaucracy.

  • I would pay more taxes to improve it and am sad when its the NHS budget that gets cut because of private banker mismanagement etc.

I love my country and I love my health and I love my neighbour. I am glad there is no middleman unsrupulous insurance company denying me shit.

My doctors can give his judgement to me based on his best knowledge rather than who is lining his pockets.

Im serious there would be a revolt here if they tried to take our NHS away.

  • Guess what? It's gonna go away, because you're Euro is fucking finished, just like all FIAT currencies.

This economic crisis is not over, and you can't pave over it by printing money for things like NHS.

America is bankrupting itself on foreign policy, England and Canada are bankrupting themselves on Domestic policy.

Either way, there's going to be a currency collapse, and health care will once again become your responsibility.

    Good Luck! Invest wisely ;)

  • Thanks for saving me ten bucks, Dan. Will steer clear of this one.

  • dont you have your own brain?

    americans, lol

  • @mooseythejuiceman,

you're not going to see it because some guy on youtube said he didn't like it that much?

draw your own conclusions, I really hope you take the time to see it.

  • Not just some guy... he's a likeminded guy. Time is too precious to waste on films not acclaimed by folks who share sentiments. I agree with your sentiment though - folks really do need to learn to think for themselves.

  • dude your arguments are verry weak.

first of all england is not a socialist country.

is a "moral righteous capitalist state".

righteous and here we go to the bible because all people are "equal".etc etc

the word democracy isnt in the constitution,

    but the "concept" is.

this shit started with regan and continued till now,

  • Marx saw capitalism as the most dynamic system throughout history. It has dominated the world within just three centuries. The endless drive for profit constantly revolutionizes technology. Capitalism has created vast wealth but also enormous poverty, a kind of crisis very peculiar from the rest of the crises in history. In ancient slave and feudal societies, crises arise out of scarcity, whereas capitalist crises today are the results of overproduction.

  • Capitalism has not created enormous poverty. Poverty is man's natural state of being.

  • hmmm new york where wallstreet is, is also where the homeless live in cardboard boxes. people who dont work, who just speculate earn profits even in their sleep. very natural state of things eh

  • i agre, the movie lacked credible resources and information. i think that probably all of these systems - capitalism, democracy, socialism, communism - it's not that the system that's evil but the people that rule within the system that corrupt it and cause evil outcomes.

  • hey visionvictory - I disagree with you re grabbing back your house - this shit is now hitting the fan where people are losing jobs due to the banks 'greed' hence can not pay the banks the money to keep there homes hence the banks take the house - thats just wrong - not all people have ninja mortgages -

  • funny how Moore hates a system that has made his great wealth possible. I'd venture to guess that he's pretty stingy with donating his money too. These guys talk a good talk but when you look at their tax statements you find they don't really believe what they preach.

  • it's obvious you believe your country really cares about you. THEY DON'T. Karl Marx believed the people are the power and the workers are exploited and paid like crap for the big boys to CAPITALIZE on YOUR hard work. Do you LIKE to be taken advantage of? Karl Marx didn't. Read about him in a textbook.

  • Who cares what he wrote, how has communism been applied in the real world? Communist countries had ruling elites who lived much better than the masses who had to wait in line for food and place orders for items like TVs and Cars and wait years for delivery. Communism doesn't work because human being are corrupt and self centered.

  • I agree with you about almost everything you said. I definitely think that this movie was not as good as his others, I might have just expected more. But there just wasn't enough sources and it was more of examples of how we're supposed to feel sorry for people instead of how it's happening. I would have like some more information instead to be honest.

  • 35 banks default on tarp payment

    calculated risk

    reported by Rutters

  • Good review, VisionVictory. My thoughts: (1) It's incorrect to say "capitalism is evil". Systems aren't evil; evil is born in the intentions of people. Perhaps if enough of us were sufficiently noble & wise, any economic system from capitalism to communism would work. (2) It's confusing to advocate replacing capitalism with democracy; one's an economic system, while the other's a political one. It's like being unhappy with your car, so deciding to drive to work in your refrigerator.

  • I think this dude needs to beef up on facts. He is all conjecture and sound bytes. Stop wasting my time! Economics (and by the way I taught Economics at a College) is a way of subverted the people's interest. Michael Moore is no Einstein, your smug rich self can be self righteous-beware of the Chinese they are goign to move to bankrupt this country.

  • dumb ass you can't pay your bills without a job, but you are right if you did a subprime your bad

    stacey

  • vision ..

will back trac and try to connect to source ..

should really take better notes ..

    so many parsnips ...

  • Capitalism does not have anything to do with a market economy! Capitalism is the same thing as communism with the difference that the few get to own everything instead of everyone owning everything.

  • badger economics 101

In a sign that more banks are under great pressure from the recession, 34 financial institutions did not pay their quarterly dividends in August to the Treasury on funds obtained under the Troubled Asset Relief Fund (TARP). The number almost doubled from 19 in May when payments were last made, and also raised questions about Treasurys judgment in approving these banks as healthy, a necessary step for them to get TARP funding.

    parsnips any one ...

  • do you have the source? i would like to report on that in todays video.

  • about banks defaulting on tarp repayments

    think was in comments

    callaculated risk

    or zero hedge ..

  • @visionvictory what about people getting laid of their jobs just to increase profit and to add milion dollar bonuses. That is not an unusual reason for not being able to pay your bills. And what if a person is needed a surgery and couldnt afford to pay their hospital bills?. I've had 4 major medical operations and it didnt cost me a dime. I take medicine which costs 2819 dollars per year for free. I wouldnt want to live in USA not for the pursuite of whatever.

  • Some great points. You're a smart man, Mike.

  • Sorry, I meant Daniel. :)

  • I don't think anybody owns anything. All of us have tempory "ownership or custody" of assets until we die, or sell it. So in effect we only temporarily own anything and if you think you do then you are deluded.

  • I'm exteme left, so far left that I am almost to the right.

Good movie review, I wan't going to see it anyway at least in a theathe for $40 including popcorn. Not my kind of movie for relaxation, I would recomend Inglorious Basterds if you want to relax.

I have to agree sometimes MM miss's the obvious and try's to make connections like you said on the guy burning his furniture, uh he could gave it to the Salvation Army instead of burning it.

If it comes on YouTube I might watch it.

  • ALL OF MOORE'S MOVIES MAKE...

specious claims that are easily refuted.

    Nice review.

    J.C. was here.

  • 30 yr treasury bond sale numbers oct 8 2009

The bid-to-cover ratio, a main gauge of demand, was 2.37, below 2.92 for the previous auction in September and the average of 2.63 from the past four auctions.

The indirect bid - demand from domestic and foreign institutions, including foreign central banks - was 34.5%, down from 46.5% from the previous auction in September and the average of 48.5% for the last four auctions.

    not that good

    downwadr trending ..

  • Propaganda to sell Socialism/Communism. He's a tool.

  • No he is a prophet

  • An excellent and logical rebuttal. Also, think of this: Foreclosure and private lenders... hmm... what do you think the government will do if you don't pay the taxes on a home that you own? They will take the damn thing, sell it, kick you out, and there you are... in the same place.

  • Markets are ascending from awesome news; ONLY 521,000 new jobless claims for this week opposed to an expected 554,000. WTF??!!!!

  • Common sense is the brick wall that gets in the way of prejudiced, egotistical, vendetta-oriented film-maker media lackeys.

  • A good common sense review.

  • moore is a pupulist ..... he has some points but you allways need at least 2 adult mutal parties to agree upon a contract of dept.

If organized greed and or ignorance is the decider of a wealth & jobless individual, then we get capital bubbles that fake wealth right up untill its payback time!

Trade is OK, Pure Capitalism & ignorance and greed are a problem when they meet.

  • Whats up with the Tin and Copper markets. Governments buying up the metals markets is Communism run amuck. When they shall think peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon.

  • Children want to have fun and enjoy themselves.

adults form a plan and stick to it.

    Mark Ramsey

  • I wonder if Moore hates capitalism so much that he gave all his movie's profits to the foreclosure "victims"?

  • LOLOLOLOL I just became a fan of BabyHomonid!

  • very true, I was wondering that myself. Anyone who pays to see his movie is supporting his real stance on Capitalism. If he really thought Capitalism was "evil" and wants to educate the average citizen, he should be making it free for everyone to go see this movie. By charging $12-$13 to see it, hes exploiting the very thing hes against. Don't support him!

  • gold 1051. $

    hearing some thing about

germany and 3000 tons of gold

they have stored in the usa

    think they want delivery .....

    this could be interesting ...

    take care peoples

gold eleven hundred ..has a nice sound to it ..

  • 3000 tons of gold, and don't forget the parsnip they want back!

  • Michael Moore is afraid of the Fed. HR1207.

  • Yahoo Finance finally posted an article of warning about overpriced stocks and massive decline, Yahoo search the title:

"Allow me to introduce: The biggest suckers rally since the great depression"

  • If Michael Moor lives in a communist country a few years he wouldn't have the same opinion about capitalism.

  • You are one of the lucky few that understand this situation. The above average person who has a college degree could probably figure this out, and a few people were probably greedy, but the majority of people were misled due to lack of education. These banks did a lot of preying on people who do not understand how it all works and simply want to just work there 40 hours a week and live in peace in there homes.

  • This is the first video by you that is really irritating me; the average person, say the plumber or electrician that works for a living does not understand ANYTHING about financing, and how the banking system works. These people were misled into thinking they could afford something they could not by showing them a monthly payment and then jacking it up on them after 3 years with these variable rates they push on people. Then take away that persons job, and they lose there home.

  • I subscribe Entertainment Weekly magazine which recommends Moore's movie to readers.

Visionvictory's mentions a lot of things the magazine does not mention.

  • Good objective review.

Simply put, we don't have real free markets.

  • Seemingly, good objective review. The other apparent problem is that we don't have pure capitalism. Thus, people see success (bonuses) from failure when they are suffering failure from failure and the unfair dichotomy is what drives people so insane as to burn their financed furniture which to them represents greedy corporations and a broken system in general. It's a small symbolic way to lash out at the system. I believe in a fair & pure system, people would be more willing to accept failure.

  • I don't want to come across like someone who doesn't want to understand the "full spectrum", but I just don't understand the value in wasting money and time watching a Michael Moore movie. Your review sounds exactly like what I thought it was: it presents a warped view of capitalism and depends on amusement factors to fill in the vacuum caused by the lack of logic. This sounds like one to leave to the latte sippers because I have better things to do with my time..

  • "They're greed, . . . just like Wall street's greed, brought them to their knees." Excellent point. Of course, apart from Lehman bros. greed didn't bring anyone on wall street to their knees; but yes, it was the same greed.

Let's all take a personal responsibility pill and call me in the morning.

  • Good vid. I did NOT like the movie either !

  • I loved the movie. It will make people aware of how certain things really work, and maybe more Americans will wake up and realize what is actually happening in our country.

However, you are absolutely correct, people who sign loans should understand them.

And I do not feel sorry for anyone who used their home as an ATM machine. They deserve what they got-I feel kind of sorry for Grandma (in your example), but she should have known better, my grandma did and she still has her house.

  • I never got to see this movie yet, giving you a step ahead on me on this, but its good to see people standing up for the evils of capitalism. You mentioned a replacement for this in your video which brings up to the resource based economy. This is the only thing as of now I can see to replace the evil deeds of greed capitalism supports.

As far as burning the furniture... Im not surprised.. years and lifetimes of frustration during the 2012 shift can cause many things to happen.

  • Daniel,

Usually I am in almost toal agreement with your views - but this video in particular came across as condescending. "If you dont understand the papers - dont sign them" So now we all need to become proficient in legal wirting before we purchase a home? C'mon mannnnnn. Many people were lied to. That is fraud. Not everyone caught up in the housing mess was greedy. Let's be more respectful of people here.

  • Get a lawyer. That's what I did when I bought my franchise last year. It's sad these documents are designed to be too complicated to read, but get a lawyer! Besides, I doubt it even matters because if people would have bought homes they could actually afford the complexity of the document would have been irrelevant. If someone with 4 kids and a $40K income buys a $450K home it doesn't really matter what the document says because common sense tells you it's too much!

  • That is right, you said it, if you can't afford it its too much to have. Greed and stupidity its such a deadly combination. With hyperinflation around, people who spend without consideration will suffer big time.

  • Stupidity and lack of common sense are not crimes, but fraud is a crime. There were a lot of customers, loan officers, branch mangers, AND banks committing both stupid and fraudulent acts. If I dont know I cant afford it - my bad. If you lie to me and tell me that I can, then make up fake docs without my consent and lie about the rate and payment, your bad.

  • "Ignorance of the law is no excuse". If you willingly signed a fraudulent contract for your own benefit you're equally guilty. At the bottom of each page, did you not initial your name to verify that you had read and understood everything? Did you not gain a house from this transaction? Did you not know how to read and understand English? If you answer yes to all, you're committing fraud. Being stupid is not a defense.

  • Moniequa, in a period of hyperinflation won't those who spend, spend, and spend actually get the last laugh? Say a spend-a-holic has tons of credit card debt right now and we get into a period of Zimbabwe-like hyperinflation. Suddenly their $100K in debt in useless "Ambercrombe and Finch" crap is worthless - that $100K can suddenly be paid off with as much ease as a bottle of Coke and a wheelbarrow to haul the money.

  • I think you got a point, let me borrow and spend. How do you suppose they get this useless money to pay their debt when they barely can afford their expensive food? Or what happen if they lose their job? Don't you think its wise to not have any debt at all?

  • I haven't seen all of Michael Moore's movies. The last couple have been neat. What does vision victory do for a l iving? What kind of financial background does he have? Does he know anyone who works in debt consolidation or debt management or banking or stock broking?

  • Moore would have a legitimate point if he blamed it on Wall Street and the Fed, helped by the idiots in Washington.

The internet was bullshit. Derivatives have become a casino. AIG was making bets. When any party to a derivative transaction is TAKING risk that they don't have where they don't set aside reserves or capital (pay as you go) and can do so on a leveraged basis, it is gambling with other people's money. Heads, I win. Tails, you lose.

DUH, what is so hard to figure out?

  • Michael Moore cherry picks? Film at 11.

Government bail outs for Wall Street, banks, Detroit and unions are not capitalism. Fannie and Freddie are not capitalism.

The Fed under Reagan did the right thing. They pounded the economy into the ground to wring out inflation that had plagued the economy for 20 years. This allowed the economy to grow at a decent rate for almost 20 years.

The economy got out of whack in Clinton's second term - the internet bubble sold by Wall Street.

  • Moore is an idiot. I cannot take that guy seriously.

  • I went to see that film last weekend. During the segment where he talks about how automation is taking jobs away from Americans He showed two robots that I built with my own hands. Honestly. I was shocked.

  • sry i don't do requests. and also im probabaly the only one that watches visionvictory that doesnt hold any debt. and he says i live beyond my means hahah..

  • more sensationalism for the masses

  • bullshit, m. moore is offering $10,000 for any factual error in any of his movies, and no one has collected yet, because he has a team of investigators and lawyers who check the facts he presents. lets see the right wing bullshit artists do that, they'd pay out the ass. and if reaganomics was successfull, why the fuck are we in the mess were in? reagonomics has been the policy of this nation for 40 years, and tax cuts for the rich, destroying labor unions, deregulating industry, = death to U.S.

  • Michael Moore makes a lot of sense. That's why his movies are so good and popular. He didn't get famous yelling at public parks. YOU PEOPLE ARE SO STUPID. Keep telling yourselves that it's such a good thing and all the yankee doodle dandy bullsht.

  • Moore is a fascist socialist.

Funny, because he could never do in Cuba what he is doing in America, tearing our country to shreds with his movies and then making millions and keeping it.

Moore's movies aren't popular, who told you that?

Moore wants us to look like Cuba. Go google Cuba and see what kind of world he wants for us,...not himself of course, he's part of the intellectual elite.

He'll be one of the first people to go to prison when the fascist take over.

  • mkmason excellent post you're 100% right. people check out the video "KGB: How to Brainwash a Nation" conducted in 1985 by Ed Griffin (author of Creature from Jekyll Island) "They'll be lined up against the wall and shot".

    watch?v=A-ZQbJHagx4
