Not believeable at all. Terrible choreography, had high regard for cotter up until watching this. Now I'm kinda iffy about his martial atrs authority. Still great strength conditioning source though.
A question to Steve, what is your opinion on Internal Chinese martial arts, like, Ba Gua Zhang QIng Yi, and Tai Ji Chuan, do you see any benefits in learning these for MMA fighting/self defence? The so called Qi powers in these just a myth? Have you seen or experinced any Qi? Are these arts unpractical for real fighting? I mean, like people say about Aikido , that it just doesn't work in reality.. What is your opinion and experience and benefits regarding these issues? Great work of KB, thanks!
People usually mock what they do not know or have very little information of. They are also accustomed to doing so while sitting on the couch with a family sized bag of chips. Try doing some research about the subject before you open your mouth and criticize, by they way, you wouldn't have the eggs to do it in person.
Do you know what a demonstration is? Or a drill? Are you fucking retarded? Do you actually think that he's showing this video to show off that that dude showed up at his place and he kicked his ass? Kill yourself.
Yea I know, its easy to look like an expert when your partner knows EXACTLY what to do lol!!! Try that with someone who's actually trying to hurt you and hasn't rehearsed it hundreds of times before it was put on youtube.
It makes a lot more sense in the context of his "Full Kontact 2" DVD; essentially he shows the connection between the kind of core strength you develop from seemingly weird exercises like the 'bent press' and actual martial arts applications.
Right, except the weird, made up, "special" exercises people think up of to sell DVDs and whatnot simply are not superior to conventional exercises. Squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses all develop the core muscles to the maximum extent possible, since the core can and will fail during these movements, causing you to reach failure before the prime mover is exhausted, and which causes the core to adapt. You can get silly with lots of cutesy moves, but you cant beat whats best!
Made up? Snatchs, windmills, and other "special" exercises have been around for hundreds of years. Squats, DLs, and overhead presses are all part of Steve Cotter's workouts too. I do agree this video clip is silly.

I think he was going for a hip throw. If it was supposed to be a shoulder throw, then I agree.
