Shyt man i dont think i could ever play that :o i mean fk! you have to hit the same key! over and over! dam.... way to complicated for me... Il stick with rachmaninoff
It's really astonishing how far you can go with so little musical material. The first pieces of Musica ricercata are the perfect demonstration that music is about far more than we believe to know.
So hard to play this without playing any G or B.... I like your interperation although you had some Gs and Bs... they were almost unnoticeable too. score of 99.5/100 !

well based on my own experience, i dont beleive that a composer can succeed to compose a good piece only by usin 2 notes,
u need at leat 4 notes to achieve something creative and attractive,
ligeti has some very interesting and wounderful pieces, but i believe that he composed this piece just to experiment with his skillz, he proll wanted to see how far he could go with it

love this. such a great, interesting composer.

He uses A the whole piece and then goes to D.
Sol - Do! haha
sphillips5319 2 years ago 7
Sol-Re.
D is italian Re.
LAMIAAFRICA 2 years ago
If you're using the European versions of solfege syllables, it would be La-Re.
Make sure you know the facts before you criticize someone. Sol to Re would be a P5, not a P4.
In the American system (moveable Do) the key determines the central pitch.
sphillips5319 2 years ago
sorry man,i'm italian like the video's author,and i had no idea there was also an american system.
Excuse me =D
LAMIAAFRICA 2 years ago
@sphillips5319 La - Ré, in fact ;)

I guess it's really easy to tell when the performer hits a wrong note. I'd be terrified to perform this in public! LOL!

@Danielkwalsh111 He also hits B at 1:36, 1:41 and 2:13 ... lame :D

Not only, at c. 2:13 too ... and It changes a structure of this piece. ;-)))

Think about it. The whole melody goes on La's and suddenly there is a re (a nad after d)

Goddamnit, Ligeti! You stole my idea.
You also did it infinitely better than I did it.

The last note is a D. It's a very good interpretation.
