ABSOLUTELY LOVED this song when it came out. We used to go to "Punk rock" clubs to hear different music to add to our break dance routines. This is off the freaking hook!:)
On The eve of Halloween I pulled three "no trespassing" signs from the limestone ground posted by a snooty Baptist church to declare "no trespassing" by hand and will on parkland. Two ended up in a creek nearby. The other is a souvenir in the backyard yard. To hell with them.
they should have played this at nightmare before christmas event in LA instead the the darkest thing the stupid dj could come up with was blue monday!!!! AHHHH!!!
I moved to San Francisco in 1984 and Sunday's and Thursday's were Alternative nights at the Palladium and this song fit the mood of the club perfectly.
First heard this in some snowboarding videos back in, what, 88 or so (Western Front by the Avalanche snowboarding team)? Damian Sanders was my hero, and I got introduced to many amazing bands as a result. Ministry was my favorite!
If I could go back and choose my life, I would want to be born in 1959, so when I was 21 it would be 1980 when everything awesome came out. Movies, music, machines, weapons, clothing style, etc. Sadly I was born in 1991 and the earliest thing I remember is from 1995 and it's a very brief memmory. 2000 is when I really start to remember things. I will never get to live the best times there were, just able to listen and read about the history. . .
This is a gold mine right here. he could easily reissue this stuff and make a fortune by adding bonus tracks, but I forgot, he opened a can of SUPER FAST HEAVY METAL on everything and made this song sound like shit with a new remix.
New Ministry album is guaranteed to suck major fucking balls.
I remember this song in 12th grade.........boy they sure did change over the years!!! I love them still..all of it and I own all of it................
@ladypodtron weren't they called new wavers then.... my mom was a new waver, she listened to DM,NO, the Cure and Ministry and she called them all and her friends new wavers... and said she never even knew what goth music was... BTW the cure is not goth before anyone says that lol
@alec9tap And i listen to all this shit and wouldnt consider me or my music goth... Goths are not cool, their music is dull, mundane and undanceable so it can never be new wave or indie cool
Ministry holds a special place for me. The evolution of Al's sound is one of the most drastic i've heard. I admit its hard to listen to some albums start to end. But his music has definitely made an impact upon with me, and isn't that the whole point? Whether its Psalm 69 or The Last Sucker, you can find a song to headbang to. I saw them on their last tour, i think they will be back.
Fuck: Hot Topic, MTV, musical relativism, Hollywood, E!, reality TV in general; fuck your tattoos, fuck your car, fuck fame, fuck money, fuck you if you can't take a joke. Message(?): Stop buying the mediocre crap they're selling and do it yourself! Fuck the DJing, pick up some instruments, write lyrics again (and not about fucking partying, getting laid, pimping, blah; that's what you DO while listening, not what the songs should be about), and make music you actually want to hear.
Never missed a Ministry, Front 242 or Naked Raygun show when they toured Chicago back in the day. Either at Metro or Exit...(On Wells). Or bumping into them at Wax Trax, NEO, Dreamerz, Avalon, Berlin, OBanions or OverEasy! Ahhh Good times! if I only had a fricken camcorder.
Fuck all those who bash old Ministry. This band was at the peak 1983-1988, after that the guitars took over and everything got boring and washed up pretty fast, even though I love tracks like N.W.O, Never Believe and Reload.
@invinciblespirit13 not only that, i find it insulting that you believe that because your child has autism, you have any idea what it is like. Although if you haven't fucked this up already, I will give you some advice i learned from experience: don't let your kid find out that it has autism, don't let them use it as a justification for having bad social skills, they can get better at it, not being diagnosed until i was 17 was probably the best thing that could have happened to me.

I do not recall "goth" being used to describe me and my friends. Sometimes
