Great video , I missed Guy Gardener amd kilowog though. Now on to the point I am stil angry at DC for bringing back hal , I mean rebirth was a good effort, but it threw to the garbage ten years of continuity, Hal should have stayed as Parallax, or the Spectre or died, personally I dont like much Kyle, Jon could have taken the Gl mantle or a new character. Hal should be dead.

@TheVetoSkreeemer I'm not pleased. Renumbering 'Detective Comics' & 'Action Comics' back to #1 is sacrilegious IMHO. When they relaunch/reboot they always bring back about 85% of what they discarded anyway. How do you feel about it?

@landline00 For me it is just a marketing plot, Marvel tried a similar one a few years back , then when they realized they goofed, or that it didnt work the way they wanted they started with the stupid renumbering. The only new element is DC announced digital comics, and I think that is the future, I dont like them , but that is where this industry is headed for. My biggest regret is that Action , and Detectiv wont reach the 1000 issue, ah and renumbers dont count for me.

@TheVetoSkreeemer I would never, ever buy a digital comic! There is nothing like going down to your parent's basement and rummaging through your collection on a rainy day. A digital copy is just bits of information and not a discrete object that exists independently. What makes these DC microcephalics think that starting at #1 is going to boast sales?

At 1:36 is that Alan scott. he was befare my time so I am not my time. but what I do know is that his power ring's power sorce is something called the starheart. what I want to know is if his powers are any differnt from the other lanterns and if the power form the statheart and the source of the others lanterns powers are really all that differnt. To answer your question AA781228, yes and no. The starheart was a piece of the green element of the Lantern Corps that broke off long ago and fell to Earth. His powers are very similar though his weakness is to wood instead of yellow.

the Starheart was a piece of universal magic that escaped the Guardians of the Universe and merged with a rogue Lantern's Power Battery. It is not related to the green element.

@SantomPh In the current continuity, the Star heart was a device used to collect rogue magical energies, which the Guardian shot into space on a planned loop so that it would never be found or trackable. It was diverted however, and landed on Earth (typically)

his ring is not tied to the Oa Lantern and is magical in nature- it can form constructs and translate languages, shield Alan and others but is powered by the Starheart which is imbedded in his railway lantern (Alan was a railway engineer working in China when he got his powers).

A key difference is that Alan's powers are always fire-like and if anyone notices, Alan is left-handed unlike most GLs.

the eason they put him in (and i had a hard time understanding) is because all other lanterns had been used at some point except guy gardner who recently was on batman brave and the bold but john stewart was chosen because you never see him in anything he is one of the fewer heard of lanterns until jl came out then he becam more popular to those who didnt read comics but watched the dcau so and no it has nothing to do with him being black that i think probably made him popular as gaara015 said

The only reason that jon stewart sucks in the comics is because the powers that be make him that way. He was technically created before kyle raynor, but they chose to focus on developing raynor over jon. So when you say they chose jon on the tv show to be 'diverse', weren't they showing 'favoritism' when they gave raynor better stories and more exposure in the comics. In a way, its similar with scott and hal. Most people would have never heard of jon stewart if it wasn't for the show.
