Hey many people have pet squirrels. i once found 2 newborn baby squirrels. i was 5 months pregnant at the time. Stressed out. had to keep a warm heating pad for them and wake up every 2 hours to feed them like a human baby. i was like wow this is how it's gonna be when my daughter is born lol. They were adorable and innocent. A squirrel rehabber took them and raised them. They now live in central park and my daughter is 3 years old now hahahaha.
Why is it weird to have a pet cremated?? It's a common thing here to have your pet cremated (the netherlands). They also have pet graveyards. Animals are a part of the family....I don't understand why this is crazy.
@Nibbit You are right about animals being part of the family. My dog and cat are buried in a pet cemetary. It's a very peaceful and beautiful place. It's the oldest pet cemetary in the country, from the late 1800s. There are amazing headstones and some of the sayings on them leaves one in tears. If anyone is interested, look up Hartsdale Pet Cemetary in Hartsdale NY. They used to take human ashes if someone wanted to be burried with their pet, but the state is trying to stop that.
@Nibbit well if you've ever had a pet hamster you understand. it's normal to have dogs cremated and stuff. but who would have their rodent cremated. most people stick em under a tree in the backyard
@okod146 In the netherlands, even the smallest pets are treated normally ...in life and death. Hamsters aren't cremated, but there is still a little family get together around the "grave". I don't know anyone that had their pet rodents cremated, but the animals were loved all the same.
