  • Maybe you can help I"m going to take an adult Ed course in "Home Construction/FarmingI've done a lot or Reviews and it seems Hitachi and Makita are the top. Not sure if I should get an 18V Drill or get the impact Driver? I want 1 all around tool for Drilling. Taking Screws out for light and heavy work. Thanks.

  • It is a good thing that it shuts the tool down. Over discharging a Lion or LiPo batter ruins, or drastically shortens their life.

  • You're making my BTD141 feel inadequate! :(

*resisting urge to buy more power tools*

  • I am searching from 3 days where to buy this from in Ontario, Canada , and nothing i got ! even online they say at the end we don't ship to p.o.boxes ! and they didn't leave an option to pick it up from ups store or something, Any help will be appreciated

  • GOOD REVIEW what is your favorite impact on the market hitchi the 3 ah 18v the new makita shown here, the new bosch 18v , the new milwakee 18v or this dewalt?

  • dewalt seemed to be gettin a little tired toward the end! it really doesnt matter how far you run a li-ion down. thats a lipo thing. both lithium batteries just different chemistries.

  • There is a led battery light right next to the led bar that shows what speed you are in. If you look closely you will see it. It will light up red when the battery is getting low. And as soon as it gets too low it will blink and not allow you to use the battery until you charge it.

  • thanks again for the video, i did decide to buy it

1 thing i might add is that the led light on the bottom of the drill is not a battery meter, but a power meter showing if you have the drill on low medium or high. i would like to be able to know how much life a battery has before i grab one but other wise its an excellent driver. brusless motor might benifit from neodynium magnets.... might be a fun mod !

  • thanks for the video

This model appears to be in the top of its class.

please let me know what happens as the battery get close to dead does the motor slow down over time or does it intelligently stop thanks!

  • It intelligently stops.

Before it gets too low there is a red battery indicator light that lights up.

As soon as it gets too low the indicator light blinks and the led blinks and shuts off the motor.

  • ok this is very important i had the btd141 and the thing would run and run until it slowed down to nothing not good for li-ion

just to confirm this will run at full power then just die when batteries dead? thanks

  • Excellent impact drill from makita, I just bought it a week ago, and I still impress of its tremendous power.
