Akira and I looked into each others eyes. He was doing his solo, I was watching intently. Everyone else was mindlessly headbanging. But he was showing off for me! Then he fucked up on one note!... He got pissed off, threw me a pick and never looked at me again. Thunder tour "84" he was voted best new guitar player of the year. Still a fan of him on that ESP guitar, wow!
@driverofsound That was an amazing experience you had with Akira! I got to meet Akira and the band earlier this year. They are very awesome people. I bought a same type ESP guitar in 85 but sold it 5 years ago. Wish I still had it. Loudness RULES!!!
I wish people would stop making comparisons that are way off..I was heavy into Vivian Campbell, Randy Rhodes Jake E.Lee and Akira back in the day, if you will tho I liken Akira in that stable of metal masters, but, this riff is sooo bitchen groovy when it broke out , not to mention We Could Be Together, and well all of Thunder too and Hurricane Eyes too!! classic metal ear spank...
@CTROCK Not exactly no...but the opening riff sure. Listen how simple the drums and bass are...add the jangly opening chords and it reminds me of AC/DC.
@DickLodge68 If you mean the chords that start at 10 seconds in -this pure Ritchie Blackmore, after all Loudness was heavily influenced by Deep Purple.
@bornburied Right...the first few seconds are very Blackmore-ish....but then the bass and drums kick in and it sounds like AC/DC to me - post Bon Scott of course. Just me. I like it.
@DickLodge68 Nope as i said the chords that START at 10 seconds (-which is also when the drums begin) is Blackmoorish - However, the drum beat itself is a bit more "basic rock" than Deep Purple would use so in that sense I could see why you might attribute it to sounding "AC/DC" . At the same time it's actually not a pattern that AC/DC typically uses either. ( post Bon Scott recordings do have the odd song that emphasize the down beat)
One of the best Solos EVER! Just magic.

@CTROCK Akira is awesome...the way this song starts, it could have been AC/DC, if you didn't know better.

@DickLodge68 As a listener and a guitar player, the intro never ever reminded me of AC/DC in style or tone.
