  • Some airlines specifically say all transmitting devices must be turned off and a camera is not on their list. If a camera puts out any energy it would be barely measurable to the point of insignificance. There seems to be a worldwide phobia against cameras based on fear and ignorance. Its still the dark ages. Kali Yuga

  • @NaggarIndia Kalo, couldn't have said it any better! Thank you so much for your comment.

  • Talking about interference, has anyone ever set their cell phone next to speakers that have the volume turned up? you know that weird beeping static that comes through when you receive a text or call? Well modern aircraft have wires running the length of the body, when you use electronics those wires can pick up the interference and transmit it into the pilots headset making it hard for them to hear aircraft controllers. It is not a laughing joke if a pilot has to ask AC to repeat itself.

  • He sounds like Quagmire right before he took off in episode were peter took fuel from the plane.

  • see this is one of the reasons I dont fly - a camera can crash the plane? really?? fu*k it, I'' walk! hehe.

  • @lockhosting Haha, yeah I guess. Let's outlaw flying alltogether and get back on our feet again ;-)

  • Wait, Doesn't Anybody Know that ALL Electronic devices Have to be off While Takeoff, ??? and Landing!

  • @jariel1972 OMG you're right. It must be a heavenly miracle that I didn't cause the plane to crash by using my digital camera (like 30min before landing btw)

  • @pepshmere Actually, speaking as pilot who has gone through many systems courses, the electronics can interfere with planes Traffic Awareness systems, as well as their Terrain Awareness systems. Will it bring the plane down? No, the planes are designed to fly without any electronics systems in an emergency. But do you really want to chance messing with the planes ability to see other planes, and see any terrain you could fly into? Didn't think so.

  • @BurningMatchProdctns Thanks for your comment. Being a pilot myself, I am well aware of the importance and of how those systems work. Do you seriously believe a digital camcorder will interfere with these GPWS/TCAS? What about the inflight entertainment/PTVs - are they turned off for landing? Don't think so. What about professional videos like youtube.com/watch?v=_llyS20J0Ac&feature=relmfu. Cummon, if everybody just relaxed a little bit this could contribute a LOT to making air travel nice again

  • @pepshmere I mean do I think that a camera is gonna interfere? Most likely not, but I'd rather not chance it. I'm sure you're also aware of the FAR's requiring all electronics to be off.

  • @BurningMatchProdctns Your statement of an FAR all inclusive ban on electronics is a lie. Read the rules, all kinds of exceptions are mentioned, from hearing aids to shavers. They did forget to mention watches run by button batteries. With all these unsafe exceptions I would think that you would "rather not chance " flying all together.

  • @pepshmere put a phone on an amp, play some guitar, call your cell phone.

  • @gowill2 Ok what is so incredibly hard to see the difference between a CAMERA from a CELL PHONE? FYI I wasn't using my cam to make a phone call while I was filming this scene. Btw I don't wanna know how many cell phones get carried onboard and accidentally not turned off. I don't approve of it, just saying

  • @jariel1972

If that was the case, the plane couldn't fly, it has many MANY devices.. ;)

hahaha ohhh family guy... how you make us all laugh

  • I flew from Newark to Madrid, Spain on a Continental 757-200.

  • give this guy red bull - hes got the fucking wings!

  • anyone seen that family guy where quagmire does that announcement on that plane he is flying? sounds just like this....."uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh good morning ladies and genetlemen uhhhhhhhhhh...."

  • @majast20 We will experience some head winds... giggitty...

  • Frankfurt, Kentucky or Frankfurt, Germany?

  • @cyndie26 Frankfurt, Germany

  • Better tired than drunk. Atleast he aint slurring.

  • "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHH"

Why do all pilots say that?

  • @t08jtr apparently

  • @t08jtr As part of their training every airline pilot goes to a speaking class where they are taught to be only slightly coherant. Also they are taught to give info that doesn't mean anything to the passengers like windspeed and direction. The last part of the course they each learn how to all sound exactly the same.

  • @t08jtr because when they're not talking they're usually busy monitoring instruments, so when they start talking, they'll still be doing it, that's why they go uuuuuhhhh ... brain gets distracted looking at shiny things in the cockpit ;)

  • He is extremely tired.

  • He doesn't even sound that tired... just neutral.

  • nah he probably had just watched this!

(not a spam link it's part of the joke)

    watch?v=f0anaCNDvGo

  • Quagmire

  • he was tired (: :)

  • Get this guy some five hour energy...

  • He sounds tired lol

  • @omjd Yeah he does

  • @omjd well it is about a nine hour flight from Frankfurt to Newark so it is common to be tired after a long flights like this, even for flight crews.
