  • that copper look wonderful nice heat dissipation metal

  • at 7:35 , dude has 3 hands!!

  • It's 817 seconds long... 13:37!

  • I think you should have been able to keep the standard backplate, as the holes are in the same place. Meh :D

  • My only problem would be to take out the whole motherboard again = (

  • It's not "Azeus"

  • Not worth watching once he said amd.

  • @KitsuniRose lol really? amd is cool i dont want to pay 200$+ on a CPU i have better things to spend my money at.

  • Could you tell me where you got that poster from at 7:45 please

  • Can it fit inside your case?

  • Wow, you made it much more difficult than it had to be when installing it. You should have placed the cooler upside down on the table. Turned the motherboard facing down and then lined up the holes with the cooler placing it down onto the heatsink, keeping pressure with your hand to keep them in contact. Then of course place the back plate on and then screw the nuts down. At least that's what I did, and I needed no help.

  • And i assume Daaenniek is a regular Picasso, everyone's a critic. As an update, my setup has run cool and nearly silent since install.

  • Those rubber washers with the adhesive sides should be placed over the holes on the mobo 1st;then place the cooler assembly..What's with the gloves ! They shouldn't be worn all the time!

@Meothui22 yep 100% agree. This guy is no caftsman by trade I can tell by the fiddly-diddly way of assembling.

  • thanks for the video, helped A LOT :)

  • The sticky side of the tabs are suppose to go on the mainboard. That is why it has a sticky side. Now you have the wrong side of the cushion facing away from the mainboard. Also, dont spread the the cpu grease to much. Good video though.

  • notice how the video is 1337 long?

    BOSS

  • Just want to say thanks for the detailed video. The closeups helped me to be positive of which side of the backplate faced the motherboard. Yours was the only video out of 5 or 6 that was completely clear on that. You and your assistant did a great job. Thanks again.

  • No, Meothui22 isn't trolling at all.

  • @Jonedcc couldnt you just install the backplate first then screw your motherboard on to your case then screw the heatsink on???

  • This is not hard. He's just an idiot. He should have laid the heatsink up side down with screws sticking up and place the mobo onto it, then the back bracket, then the nuts.

  • @Meothui22 I wouldn't call him an idiot, but it can be done with one person-this is basically how I did it too. It can be fairly nerve-racking though, and could definitely be easier.

  • That looks way too difficult to install. I just installed a Corsair A70 in intel mobo by myself and it was super easy...That Cooler Master is a poor install design.

  • what kind of screwdriver were you using to screw in the tiny screws to connect the brackets onto the cooler?

  • at first i was like ok great. a good installation.

Then we got to the sticky rubber parts. and i LOLD.

White rings on the MOBO show you exactly where to put the rubber rings. stick. place. victory. Otherwise. good job. im sure if you ate your Wheaties for breakfast you would have figured it out!

  • I was just watching your video. The double sided tape on the other backplate should have gave you a hint on how to stick that backplate on without the extra help... lol. But it's no big deal.

  • Kudos, thanks for the instructions.

  • Thanks for taking your time making this video, really helped out a lot for me, because I'm actually going to replace my current CPU cooler that's not working atm with the new one I bought which is this: "COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520".

  • Will that work with LGA2011?

  • Those retentiin brackets by the cpu are not made by asus they are made by amd

  • Helpful. Thank you.

  • will this fit on an am2+ with a phenom II? srry im a newbie to this stuff :P

  • Just got mine from Newegg today. They had it on sale for $29.99+free S/H :) :) Couldn't resist!

So far I love this cooler and have no regrets.

I got mine for the i7 though. This video was still a help :)

Thank you for posting this video!!!

  • By strategically places the boxes so that it can safely support the mobo and leave a pocket to put a back plate on, you work with the mobo right-side up the whole time. The only small disadvantage is that you have to "feel" your way on putting the back plate on with the nuts.

  • @coppertrial Good Idea, wish I though of that!

  • @Jonedcc so buying this as soon shops open .. must be piss easy to install:)

  • Thanks for pointing out how difficult it can be to install by one person. What I did was what a car mechanic would do; put some supports on the bottom. I used cardboard boxes I had lying around (i.e. power supply box) and placed the case on these two boxes (My could open from both sides, so the weight of the cooler was never just on the mobo).

  • Holy cow he has 3 hands!!

  • can 4 ram sticks actually fit with that ?

  • @N377L35

I only have two currently installed, however I do not see a problem fitting using all four slots as the copper tubing lifts the main part of the cooler pretty far away from the board.

  • LOl 13:37

  • you spelled Heat Sink wrong :P

  • lol you like a noob man :D I installed it on my gigabyte 970fx board in 2 minute without help :D

  • @Razer08 noob

  • @Razer08 Its called a tutorial dumbass.

  • @AsianPerson3 it is not a tutorial :D a tutorial is like a manual in video to see,how you can mount this on you mobo...but this is somthing else :D not a tutorial :D

  • @Razer08

well we can't all be born with four hands; seriously, they did not design this to be installed by one person.

  • @Jonedcc if you will flip the cooler upside down and put the mobo on it...just use your mind

  • let mne ask...i bought a combo from newegg with a phenom 1100t and gigabyte mobo but theres not a 3-pin fan plug? where to plug it in? also, why doesn't that backplate short out when touching those solder dots on the back? thanks dabby

  • @dabby6931

They are grounding pins, soooo no short. Maybe look again, I would be willing to bet there is either a 4 or three pin cpu fan plug near the processor.

  • This video (and the other one) shows how not to apply thermal grease. You should never try covering the whole thing, stick to a small drop in the center, or maybe a small dash if you know the orientation of the cores (google arctic silver manual). This excess grease harms heat dissipation, and don't bother spreading, it occurs naturally and evenly when put together.

Also watch it with the gloves, skin oil does nothing compared to harmful static buildup.

  • @freeculture

I was wearing a grounding wrist strap, sooo no static.

  • @Jonedcc .. umm.. I don't see the Grounding wrist strap. u wear it on your ankle?

  • Can you do the same thing with the Hyper 212 Plus?

  • @BAMF0710

Sorry, do you mean is it the same process or you would like me to post a video tutorial installing the 212+?

  • @Jonedcc Is it the same process, and will it work.

  • @Jonedcc Hey man How well does this perform compare to the coolermaster tx3. Also will this fit in a micro ATX case??? please help!!!

  • @anhtransport

The case I have is a micro atx however designs of a micro atx case vary in thickness. My understanding of the difference between atx and micro atx is hight. This cooler fits my case like a glove and it is 7" wide.

  • some motherboard as me! Hi 5!

  • excellent video thanks for the tutorial, why you use gloves, what kind of gloves are

  • @fbcvicent

They are actually culinary gloves, I just don't want any skin oils to get onto the processor.

  • @Jonedcc and what part of the installation does it require you to touch the apu plate/contacts ? admit it the gloves are overkill..
