"LIVE" Laurie Lewis at Fiddle Tunes 2010 bluegrass fiddling

You might not have noticed but that is NOT a fiddle Laurie is playing. It is a Hardanger, a eight or nine stringed instrument like a fiddle with four playable strings and the rest are sympathetic strings that drone with main strings. I have heard about these, but have never seen one played. Nice post.

@tidewaterboss Keen eye there my friend! You are the first to take notice of this. I was aware that it was not a "standard" fiddle/violin but hesitated to note it as a Hardanger as I was concerned not many people would know what I was refering to and as a result the viewership of this particular video might be considerably less...or more....who knows for certain?
