Just to clear up the whole Sgt. Johnson thing, Johnson dies at the end of Halo 3 after being hit by a laser blast from monitor 343 Guilty Spark. It would have been impossible for him to be infected by the flood due to side effects from his Borens Disease, which was not a disease at all, but a side effect from his failed conversion into a SPARTAN I during the ORION Project. The Genetic Augmentation process failed on him, but he survived and was fully functional. So that's what happened.

@800Frozone i can tell you this. the race that makes the prophets, there's plenty more besides Truth, Regret, and Mercy so the covenant isn't dead. more prophets could take the spot. and the flood? still out there. each Halo instailation contains groups of Flood for research. there are seven instailations besides the Ark. 04 (Halo 1) and 05 (Halo 2) have had their Flood samples wiped out so there are 5 more instailations containing Flood. that's probably where they'll start.

The covenant don't have a homeland. The covenant is the organisation that exists out of the alien-races we know (grunts, elites, prophets,...). they each joined The Covenant in a different time, under different circumstances, with The prophets being the holy leaders and the Elites being the military backbone (until they were betrayed by the prophetes and replaced by the brutes in Halo 2).

@QuimShtank First of all, that was the old Arbiter armor. It was the tradition ceremonial armor used by the elites. The one in a Halo 2 is a "knock off" of the armor, which has shields, because the old one was lost.
Secondly, Shield don't stop knives. They only stop bullets plasma etc. Only things with enough kinetic energy/surface are, IE: The butt of a gun in a melee attack.

Although it's true, with all the Elites that the Spartans were killing, I didn't see any flash of shields being downed, but meh, it's a spin-off game. If the Jiralhanae (Brutes) had shields at the time of the first contact on Harvest (read the book), then the technologically superior Sangheili did too.

The honor guard elites dont use ranged weapons cus they hardly ever leave the sight of the prophets, so as to never accidentally shoot one they use melee weapons only

@SamauraiRippeR It mentions in the books that you get "Freezer burn" if you have anything covering your skin when you go into cryo... so yeah, that bit of the game is wrong, according to the rest of Halo canon lore.
@SamauraiRippeR Yeah it's true. I can't remember if it was Johnson or Keyes who went into the cryo with a bandage on one arm, but yeah, it got fused and burned to the skin. It also mentions that Spartan-58 (Linda), when found in a cryopod after the detonation of Installation 04, had burns on a huge amount of her body... but I think that was also from being hit by loads of plasma early during the Battle of Reach.
@Mafk101 I think the bandage was Johnson, and I think that Linda's burns were just from the plasma shots, as the Chief went into cryo in a Mjolnir armour and just came out sore. Also, Linda got shot close to the end of the Battle of Reach, on early on.
@SamauraiRippeR Linda got "killed" early on, when John lead the "space op" to destroy the nav data on the ONI prowler Circumferance. Fred lead the ground team that were to prevent Covenant ground troops taking out the reactors powering the Orbital MAC platforms around Reach, holding off the Covenant navy. As for John, he mentioned having freezer burns all over his body after coming out of cryo (with his armour on), but that he ignored it because the Pillar of Autumn was under attack by Covenant.

Master Chief was six in 2517, according to Fall of Reach. The human Covenant war started in 2525 and that's when Harvest was lost. The SpartanII's were only fourteen at the time of Harvest. The MJOLNIR we would recognize from HALO was not introduced by Halsey until 2552. The same year that Reach falls which I have to assume is the same year HALO is discovered by Cortana. Basically all this math means that Chief was 41 when CE took place. Did Bungie intend for Chief to be (relatively) that old?

these are the spartans of red team. They go on to head to Onyx and get trapped in the core of that planet. The timeline of the books match such that after this game they were sent on a mission to activate a bomb that was sent to the covenant homeworld, then captured a covenant ship to go to Onyx to help what was left of the new Spartan III's

@SamauraiRippeR It mentions in the books that you get "Freezer burn" if you have anything covering your skin when you go into cryo... so yeah, that bit of the game is wrong, according to the rest of Halo canon lore.

@SamauraiRippeR Yeah it's true. I can't remember if it was Johnson or Keyes who went into the cryo with a bandage on one arm, but yeah, it got fused and burned to the skin. It also mentions that Spartan-58 (Linda), when found in a cryopod after the detonation of Installation 04, had burns on a huge amount of her body... but I think that was also from being hit by loads of plasma early during the Battle of Reach.

@Mafk101 I think the bandage was Johnson, and I think that Linda's burns were just from the plasma shots, as the Chief went into cryo in a Mjolnir armour and just came out sore. Also, Linda got shot close to the end of the Battle of Reach, on early on.

@SamauraiRippeR Linda got "killed" early on, when John lead the "space op" to destroy the nav data on the ONI prowler Circumferance. Fred lead the ground team that were to prevent Covenant ground troops taking out the reactors powering the Orbital MAC platforms around Reach, holding off the Covenant navy. As for John, he mentioned having freezer burns all over his body after coming out of cryo (with his armour on), but that he ignored it because the Pillar of Autumn was under attack by Covenant.

@lackofpoison Er... no. Halo Wars is an RTS, guess who was one of the most well respected RTS developers? That's right, Ensemble, the guys behind Age of Empires and Age of Mythology which were both fantastic games.
Bungie could never have made an RTS of this quality, in fact this has got a much better story than Halo 3 and Reach (both of which were pretty appauling). I detest people who think Bungie are the ONLY people who can make Halo, they're not. Others can do it and they do it well.

Master Chief was six in 2517, according to Fall of Reach. The human Covenant war started in 2525 and that's when Harvest was lost. The SpartanII's were only fourteen at the time of Harvest. The MJOLNIR we would recognize from HALO was not introduced by Halsey until 2552. The same year that Reach falls which I have to assume is the same year HALO is discovered by Cortana. Basically all this math means that Chief was 41 when CE took place. Did Bungie intend for Chief to be (relatively) that old?

Seriously you're all idiots. Master chief wasn't on the original halo at this time because they never discovered the original halo till 20 years after this. The arbiter is given to those who commit heresy but instead of killing them, they make them fight in suicide missions. Sgt forge cannot be master chief because sgt forge dies. And for a crappy real time rpg, the cinematics were beautiful.

ya but in a way the halo games were the master-chief's story. no one elses. (hated the arbiter switch in 2). and with all these games laying out....positions...for everyone...chief headed to the planet...spartans trapped in shield world...im sur halo wars and the 2 prequil novels had some forerunner hints as well...i think that bungie is planning something big.

these are the spartans of red team. They go on to head to Onyx and get trapped in the core of that planet. The timeline of the books match such that after this game they were sent on a mission to activate a bomb that was sent to the covenant homeworld, then captured a covenant ship to go to Onyx to help what was left of the new Spartan III's
