Agreed.. Berba's my favourite player at United. But he's not right for us. He would suit Serie A very well, similar to Ibra although he's not as good as him. Players like him need to be at clubs where they're fully appreciated.
Danny welbeck is defo best option now. I've watched him since he was in the academy and I'm glad he's shoing his true, silky self.. He can hold the ball up well like Berbaov. But much more of a threat, which is what Berbatov lacks most.
It's a shame for Tevez because he could've turned out a really good player us.. unfortunately his professionalism was nowhere near what his endeavour on the pitch was.. Berbatov could teach him a thing or two about being profesional. He's actually covering himself in glory, no moaning, just getting on with it. I don't think we should sell him at all. I hope he signs the 1-year extension. He's worth more to us than 8-10m. In fact you'd be lucky to find a player for 20m with his ability. If he's willing to fight for a place then we should keep him, and to be honest it seems like a bit of that Utd winning mentality, albeit without the proper drive, has rubbed off on him. Can't hurt to have him around, it's not like he's completely incompatible, he's an intelligent footballer.
Cause let's be honest,, the three you mentioned are not at the level required, including Macheda. And even though Welbeck has looked class, very promising, and Hernandez after the hype of his breakthrough season has died down. Neither, just like Berbatov, have really nailed down a regular place alongside Rooney.
We would be unwise to get rid of such an experienced forward. Rooney struggles to provide our goals to a van Nistelrooy or Ronaldo level. He needs the help.

I'm a big fan of Morrison and have been watching lots of him since he was in the academy but expecting him to come in and do anything other than a couple of cameo roles, just as Macheda and Welbeck did a couple of years ago is a bit unrealistic.
Welbeck always looked like he was on the right track to me. He came in and did the basics and now we hve a player who has a good football brain, better brain than Hernandez and certainly Macheda.

His goals return is just as good as it was at Spurs. What happens if Rooney gets injured or goes through a spell of not scoring. Can we rely on Hernandez, Welbeck and Will Keane and Macheda to score the goals.. Another thing is while Rooney has bee in his spells of not scoring, Berbatov has been filling the gap with some. Sure, people can say he ONLY scores against small teams but these are the same teams Rooney isn't scoring against as far as I can see.

It's very clear that any problem Fergie had with him was on a professional level..He was not one bit impressed by the hands to the ears thing with the fans chanting, the constant talk in the media fuelling the media frenzy. And of course talking about retirement at 28 on a few occasions. This is not a professional, commited player by anyone's standards. Agreed.. Berba's my favourite player at United. But he's not right for us. He would suit Serie A very well, similar to Ibra although he's not as good as him. Players like him need to be at clubs where they're fully appreciated.
Danny welbeck is defo best option now. I've watched him since he was in the academy and I'm glad he's shoing his true, silky self.. He can hold the ball up well like Berbaov. But much more of a threat, which is what Berbatov lacks most.

It's a shame for Tevez because he could've turned out a really good player us.. unfortunately his professionalism was nowhere near what his endeavour on the pitch was.. Berbatov could teach him a thing or two about being profesional. He's actually covering himself in glory, no moaning, just getting on with it. He may have arrogance to is game, his uncompromising style. But he is a proper pro and a top lad.

I don't think we should sell him at all. I hope he signs the 1-year extension. He's worth more to us than 8-10m. In fact you'd be lucky to find a player for 20m with his ability. If he's willing to fight for a place then we should keep him, and to be honest it seems like a bit of that Utd winning mentality, albeit without the proper drive, has rubbed off on him. Can't hurt to have him around, it's not like he's completely incompatible, he's an intelligent footballer.

Cause let's be honest,, the three you mentioned are not at the level required, including Macheda. And even though Welbeck has looked class, very promising, and Hernandez after the hype of his breakthrough season has died down. Neither, just like Berbatov, have really nailed down a regular place alongside Rooney.
We would be unwise to get rid of such an experienced forward. Rooney struggles to provide our goals to a van Nistelrooy or Ronaldo level. He needs the help.

I'm a big fan of Morrison and have been watching lots of him since he was in the academy but expecting him to come in and do anything other than a couple of cameo roles, just as Macheda and Welbeck did a couple of years ago is a bit unrealistic.
Welbeck always looked like he was on the right track to me. He came in and did the basics and now we hve a player who has a good football brain, better brain than Hernandez and certainly Macheda.

He doesn't even start against big teams for one.. and if you go back on the few games he did, assist v Liverpool 1st game, assist v Chelsea second game, goal v Chelsea, hat trick v Liverpool.. Difference is at Spurs he was the main man an so obviously looked a better player, at Utd there's a better calibre of player around him and he is just another good player. What happens if Rooney gets injured or goes through a spell of not scoring. Can we rely on Hernandez, Welbeck and Will Keane and Macheda to score the goals.. Another thing is while Rooney has bee in his spells of not scoring, Berbatov has been filling the gap with some. Sure, people can say he ONLY scores against small teams but these are the same teams Rooney isn't scoring against as far as I can see.
And goals aren't everything either. Berba is class in general play.

I have to disagree to an extent.. You can rely on Tevez to score goals more so than Berbatov who is obviously more gifted technically and in terms of intelligence on the pitch, and off the pitch judging by Tevez still very poor English (5 years in England now!!).
Tevez is a footballing gypsy, he was always gonna move on after a year or two, so £25m is just not worth it for a player whose professionalism is seriously in question, and has been in my view since early 2009.

When he was loaned the initial agreement was a 2 year loan with an option to buy after the loan was up... he didnt seem to understand this and complained to the media any chance he got about how he deserved a contract. i think the 3 of them fighting for 2 spots would've been great. but now i can never forgive tevez for joining city. it would've been easier to accept had he joined a team like inter, milan, madrid or barca. cross town rivals? damn.

But Dennis Law did the same thing and scored the goal that sent us down to division 2 in the 70's right but we still love him.Yes Tevez has betrayed us and i will forever hold a grudge against him for that but i can also look back at his two years and say wow he contributed to a CL title 2 premier leagues a carling cup and a fifa clubs cup title not to shabby eh

tevez did a lot for united, in his 1st season he scored 20 goals, second after ronaldo who has been with the club for 5 years. he scored crucial important goals many times, and was one of the key players in uniteds double triump of 2008, 2nd season he didn't get the opportunities he had in his 1st season, what has berbatov done for united, nothing at all, tevez was blatantly wasted in his 2nd season due to berbatov.

Tevez scored 5 goals all season for united last year, this year despite not scoring many Berba has been integral to the team and has helped rooney to get his impressive goals total. Similiar to Dennis Bergkamp helping Henry score all his goals.
Just look at the stats, the 3 games we dont play berba we lose against burnley, fulham and villa. Proof that he is a class act and a quality playmaker.

1jon211, tevez scored 15 goals last season despite being on the bench and coming on as a sub most of the games, think back to rooney, tevez and ronaldo strikeforce in 2007 to 08, deadly and entertaining, he was crucial that year, scored in every position, scored 8 vital goals, like blackburn and away goal at lyon, he lost his confidence after that due to the way he was treated. even rooney didn't score much in that double winning season.

And last year he scored I think something like 15-16?, more than Berbatov. But I'd rank Tevez as one of the best strikers in the world. But dont get me wrong, there are a lot of players bettter than him out there. I personally think Rooney is twice the player Tevez is, but still class act.

lsdarcy agree, but tevez did get most of 1st team games in his 1st season, he was just awesome that year, sadly 2nd season he was droped due to berbatov who fergie spent 30 million. a big mistake, tevez score 36 goals in total, 20 2008 and 16 where most of them were as substite
