  • gay guys are more lickly to fight for gay paintings

  • Fuck off bransen

  • That's why I am afraid to put my art out there, I want success from them but I can't trust the world, even though my art is copyrighted.

  • Thanks Paul for having such a great sense of humor.

  • I lol'd hard at this story xD Now I'm gonna go join that FB group.

As an artist who sells a lot of my art on ebay, you have my support. Thankfully for me its a lot harder to bootleg sculptures, but I've seen this happen before to artists I know.

Also now I want to do something faggy... I really don't make enough faggy art :\

  • You have my support in this. A while ago I had someone plagiarizing my artwork on eBay and I found eBay equally unhelpful. It amazes me how much they just don't care. I hope that you can raise awareness and maybe shame eBay into doing more than they are currently doing. It almost seems as if they are on the side of the bootleggers sometimes.

  • @Kill3rification was there some confusion about that?

  • @Cakerolled fuck up dick face basterd

  • I almost cared, but then i lolgays'd about it.

  • 3:20 FUCK THAT SHIT.

  • how cute are you

  • Did you send a DMCA take down notice or just email customer support with a complaint (no the two are not the same)? You have to send it to the agent they have registered to handle take down notices and include the URL etc for each work your alleging infringes your copyright. If you just email customer support they have little obligation to act, if you use DMCA they have much more incentive.

  • @prh99 I did the DMCA and the individual listings were eventually taken down, not that it stopped him from trying to sell them and other pieces from my collection through different means. But my real issue is with the fact that eBay allows the seller to continue without any other recourse, especially when I'm not even close to being the first artist who has reported him. It tells me eBay just wants to turn a blind eye and continue profiting from known bootleggers.

  • @PaulRichmondStudio why not ask him for commission instead of taking him offline.

  • This is unnerving. I'm watching this wearing the same glasses he's wearing. Does this make us star-crossed lovers? Probably not - they look better on him. I don't know what I was thinking...

  • haha lets humiliate the crap out of this chinese dude.

  • Wow, nice way to track him down!

  • You sound like kermit the frog. That is all.

  • Way. To. Go. :)

  • It only makes sense that you would have to file individual claims for every piece of your work that he is peddling. ebay definitely sucks, though. They make it far too complicated a process. Just curious, do you happen to do custom paintings at all?

  • Check this site, and if you search, you may find many more: doupine.com

  • @artofthemystic Wow - quite a site! And with a live chat feature, no less! Thanks for sharing. I'll add this link to our Facebook group's list of suspicious sellers.

  • There is a big industry in Asia that specializes on this sort of rip-off. This guy may well be just a strawman for a painting sweatshop.

  • @artofthemystic I'm pretty sure he is. In fact, he's actually a "she" as we learned later in our correspondence. The sheer volume of work we were being promised would be impossible for one person to execute.

  • I wish there was a class action suit against eBay by these artists that would bankrupt them

  • LOL this is hilarious man. Sorry to see this happened, but I must say I enjoyed how you handled the whole situation. Might as well make a fool of him if e-bay makes things a pain.

  • @agiaco1 Glad you enjoyed it! Cai just made it way too easy for us! :)

  • Wow! I love your approach and humor about this OUTRAGEOUS thievery!

  • @MadHandsome Thanks! My amazing friends really helped me find the humor in this situation - and once we got that ball rolling, it took off!

  • Thanks - they definitely are not enforcing their own professed copyright rules, and it's creating a huge problem for countless artists.

  • Ebay absolutely sucks, they are nebulous Bastards that make things difficult for everyone. I hope things work out for you against Big Brother Ebay.
