Paul is letting logic and reasoning rule his decision making rather than adhering to a strict naturalistic explanation on every observable phenomenon.
The Cosmic Jackpot is an extremely interesting book. Paul Davies is no bore. By the way, I disagree with the above title introduction that he dismisses the multiverse. He is just saying that at the moment it falls short of a complete explanation of existence and there are a lot of assumptions of mechanisms that we have not yet proven including eternal inflation and string theory itself. Even the biggest fans of the multiverse theory would acknowledge this.

Do you see the lady on the right nodding off as Part 2 begins? She pretty much expresses my opinion about Mr. Davies: what a bore! Does anybody actually make it to Part 5?
At some point the notion of a supernatural creator has to become an option. Its like paul has proved God exists but dosen't believe....,well,... just because!!
Paul DOES believe in God, to a certain degree. When he speaks as a scientist he speaks agnostically, but if you read his works and pat close attention he comes acrossed as an agnostic with a slight leaning towards a form of PanDEISM or PanenDEISM. He does'nt use these labels, but his beliefs{Like Einsteins} are consistent with a type of Agnostic-Pan(en)Deism
