i love alex kidd and i love this! sadly the sms version wasnt this good...but im glad they made an arcade version! ALEX KIDD WAS A GREAT CHARACTER! sega should bring him back!!

I really remember the music for this game (from the SMS version). Glad to hear the Arcade one had better music, I love all these versions! The game was a disappointment after Alex Kidd in Miracle World, though. Not that it's terrible, but it's not a sequel to Miracle World and I wish there had been another one on the SMS.

is this an arcade version? i loved this game back in the master system, but i never knew about this version. seems a lot longer and insanely harder.

also great graphics for a game as old as myself.

This is one of my favourite games ever, thanks for uploading this. I wanted to make a gameplay video of this game too, but it turned out it was too hard for me and I kept on dying. I ended up making a TAS video of the Master System version instead, which is still awesome, but not as much as this :)

the arcade version is a tough bastard, but the master system was so freakin' easy i finished the game on the first day i got it and was so disappointed after how awesome the first one was...

I played this for the Sega Master System, and it's much, much more forgiving (you had a rather lengthy life meter in that one). I didn't know there was an arcade version until now.

The soundtrack (and perhaps some of the insane images) is the best thing about this game.

Being naked in the forest while shaking your ass in the middle of the night and defecating rolling skulls? It happened to me once, but I'd rather not talk about it. :D

On the other hand, here's the reason why this Sega's first lame excuse for a mascot didn't have a chance. If Alex Kidd had the ability to bump over enemies, like Mario does, then the game would have been way easier and still challenging, yet more fun to play.
