I think this would have sounded better with a classical orchestra providing the backing, the way Yngwie did with his Concerto Suite . There are parts of this where the other instruments drown out the guitar, which doesn't happen when this piece is played by a solo violinist. The drums in particular are too prominent.

Whoops sorry, yeah, I thought it WAS NOT Joe Satriani when I first heard it. It didn't have his tone, he is more silky with the neck pickup, this sounds a bit more brutal on the alternate picking. But anyway this piece is amazing.
