  • So no John Hanson

  • @Netkiller3714 slavery was ok back then dumbass and black people really never had a great role in history because they were mainly slaves or not written about in journals or any document back then. AND AMERICA WASNT THE ONLY STATES WHO HAD SLAVES SO STOP SAYING AMERICA IS FUCKING RACIST WHEN WE WERE NOT THE ONLY ONES

  • @MrMrsteve01: Depends on your definition of full swing I suppose, but slavery was an important economic system. It made people and states rich. It was so important that the issue had to be addressed or else the south would never have ratified the US Constitution. History is more complex than what was promised, forbidden, or acquired; it also about interpretating what got recorded. Your interpretation happens to differ from mine.

  • You cannot cover up our history no matter how hard you try we are the inventors of true masonic thought the whites currupted what the masonic nature was all about we are the reason you have schools, hospitals, and the amazing structures you see all throughout the united states

  • THE FIRST US PRESIDENT WAS MARTIN VAN BUREN, AND NOT GEORGE WASHINGTON. LET ME ADVISE. GEORGE WASHINGTON WAS THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE 13 COLONIES AS THERE WAS NO AMERICA THEN. HOW STUPID DOES AMERICA THINK WE ARE, SECOND OF ALL, AS WITH OBAMA IF YOU MUST BE BORN IN THE UNITED STATES, THE FIRST PRESIDENT BORN IN THE UNITED STATES WAS MARTIN VAN BUREN- SO PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS CORRECT. I HAVE DONE MUCH RESEARCH ON THE SUBJECT.

  • yeah american history is very racist and filled with half truths.

  • Being British I would like to know who was the first colony leader. I have always been confused by American history, I thought the Mayflower was the start of America but those guys were actually trying to get away from Britain, so how is it you's even were a colony of Britain in the first place to revolt against it, I need to read more into this lol.

  • @katiemilker

The people of the Mayflower established one of the first successful British colonies in N. America, the other was in Virginia. They were British subjects, so naturally their settlements were British colonies.

  • Facepalm at idiocy in comments.

Honestly, guys, how do you guys not know your fundamental US history and its basic roots? Stop mixing up two guys together.

  • Thanks!

  • First, John Hanson was not a President of the Continental Congress. The Continental Congress was dissolved with the ratification of the Articles of Confederation on March 1, 1781 and replaced with an entity entitled:

"The United States in Congress Assembled"

Second he was not selected but elected by Delegates sent to the United States in Congress Assembled by each of the States (current electoral model takes from this founding methodology).

Third this video does dispel the Hanson Black myth

  • First off there was no United States of America when John Hanson was SELECTED as President of the Continental Congress. Secondly he was not black but white. Far to many blacks in an effort to put their race ahead of others mistakenly think that John Hanson the senator from Liberia is the same person. I really hate to inform you that you need to study history some more. You now have not only failed American history but black history as well.

  • BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!! john HANSON NOT HANCOCK

  • when will you people stop with the i'm better than attitude you are know better than the next person. haven't your heard that you should obey your mother and father for your days may be shorten and everybody knows that the BLACK MAN was here first therefore obey me and stop acting like the fool you are. the truth hurts!!!

  • white people stop before its to late with the almighty

  • Why Bros. & Sis. would think that the United States would install or elect a Black Prez during the 1800's is way beyond me whether Moorish or not. However, I am not against OFF the INTERNET facts that substantiate this claim. I am now going to do my research for this year on this claim. I welcome books and locations in D.C. where I can obtain information. Thank you.

  • What happen to John Hanson?

Our first black president? Damm lying ass white folks!!!

  • so interesting

  • Mad as hell Hanson was black, get over it.

  • If these men were white surely they would be taught in school.

  • Where is the black guy?

  • @1951sk Americans are Racist. Don't forget that. They cut the black parts out of History. Only talking about slavery is ok.

  • @Netkiller3714 serious dude now they got obama as the "president" talking bout change and its been a while

  • @Netkiller3714 yep Americans are racist and Obama is white

  • @Netkiller3714 I don't think so.. Africans were few during this time..Slave trading happened after Washington crowned himself president. Prior to that the US was mostly under British rule who forbid the taking all of the Indian land and the frowned on slavery in the new world. All the stuff started hitting the fan when the so called Americans tooks control. Basically, the melting pot began and the caucasions lost their European culture. This is what spawned the so called American concept.

  • @miamisox

"Slave trading happened after Washington crowned himself president."

Absurd. The British Empire built the North American slave trade & it continued after the revolution. George Washington never crowned himself president; he was elected.

  • @TheOriginalLonestar Wait one sec!!! Stop reading those books written by rednecks who lie about everything.. First of all, slavery was not in full swing BEFORE Washington took office. Washington was elected by very few people. Washington promised Indian land and other free goods that the British forbid, including taxation. When he took office there was a plan to acquire all lands per right-of-conquest. Both Washington and later Lincoln, created a mongrel country for the means of money..

  • @Netkiller3714

You're an ignorant troll. Please educate yourself or at least get some common sense.

  • Very professionally done video! Almost TOO professional - are you selling Commemorative coins? The video gave a decent overview of the evolution of our Federation but did not offer much in the way of definitions. What were the differences between the Confederation and the Federation? What were the function & duties of the Presidents of the Continental Congress and how much authority did they have?

  • Is the current office of the President of the United States the successor to this "presiding moderator position in Congress" or do they actually have nothing to do with one another save the name? Was George Washington the first President of the United States who was the first chief executive officer (and had no presiding duties)? You and I both know the answers to these questions. Shouldn't they be addressed in this "educational video to prevent confusion?"

  • Great Job!!! Thank you Stan!!!

  • good stuff ty
