Really the stats you benefit from most as a disc priest are going to largely depend on your role in the raid. If you look them up on WoL, there are still disc priests whose job is to bubble spam and they are in guilds killing H-Rag weekly. She proposed a new concept of priority and all credit to her since it's working for her, and 'right' or 'wrong' is going to depend on what you find works for what your job in the raid is. The good thing is, as disc priests none of the stats are 'bad' for us :)

What add ons do you use? >.< they look like a mix of quartz (with improvements to show cool downs), a curse panel add on for the bottom, a customized bartender and heal botish.
I dont think this is a right guide, Mastery gives you a solid steady increased absorb, where as crit is a chance to give that increased absorb. I mean you can stack crit and haste but not get a single crit and that pretty much makes this whole video useless, where as mastery -> shield gives you that massive absorb whenever you need it.
nice thing about this is that haste will totally help you if you are needed to dps in shadow. a few gear changes and that's it but you can totally use a healer piece for dpsing. i'm loveing haste right now epsecially in holy crap moments when i can pop 3 or 4 flash heals and top off tank...sometimes less because i will proc a crit.
I fell off my chair when i was watching this video! With all the changes, I feel like I'm totally confused but i get it at the same time. I was wondering about the stats though, is the new priority int>haste>spirit>crit>mastery? Also, is keeping PW:shield still priority #1 or what? My priest is still only on normal cata dungeons but i find shield does 50% of the work (if not more) and i have like no mastery atm.
Very misinformative guide. In terms of raid healing, your priority is haste > mastery > crit, for tank healing, all stats are very similar, although I tend to favour mastery. You should be using Lavawalker on boots, and 65 mastery on gloves. The spec you gave is wrong. No raiding Priest should be speccing into Veiled Shadows for anything other than Ragnaros HC. EVERY healing Priest spec should be taking Desperate Prayer. It's just too good not have.

@BOTDFmawifeys4life - It's the Train of Thought Talent in the Priest Tree. Anytime you cast Greater heal, it reduces the cool down of Inner Focus by 5 seconds. The idea is to use Greater Heal on your Weakened Soul target. It will get a 10% crit boost through the Strength of Soul talent, 35% crit bonus if it's the Greater Heal under Inner Fire. You're basically just trying to slam down as many Greater Heal crits for Divine Aegis as efficiently as possible.
what is your roll in your raid? because it sounds like your more of a raid healer then tank healer. am more of a main tank healer but am gonna give ur spec a try.

i believe you can play priest in couple different way's, i'm personally still using mastery as main stat whit ''Inner Will'' on ofcourse, but i'm sure the way you play it also works fine. i think for priest ppl must search for themself how they would like to play it, using guide's like this as a basic for starting and then try out some stuff.

Indie, may i suggest something that might be very benificial to your healing? because of mastery still being usefull, you may want to stack haste, only to the soft caps, then begin to stack mastery. For example, with a resto druid, after about 12.5% haste, haste becomes the 2nd stat priority to mastery. With your greater heal this may be the case as well, the effects may diminish after x% of haste, when that occurs , you would want to stack mastery. Just something to look into
@wildmandaggers1 12.5% haste is for getting that extra tick off your HoT. Thats not what Indie is doing. Since you just want to get off a lot of GHeal and PoH, haste is the stat she choses to focus. Crit is for DA. DA only shields 10% of the value of the heal so Mastery does not help as much as when we were shielding with PW.
First of all - Neven fully belive Sim crafts and EJ... AA spec is still very cool on some hc encounters Alysrazor (There is nothing to heal, exept random players who get hit from stuffs they should not, and tanks), and funny but 4 healer fight also - Majordomo... There is NOTHING to heal at first 3-4 phases exept tank. And funny part of this fight if you doing everything right your attonment heal tank for 100k+ (halfus hc before nerf :( ).
Good addition to the first guide, but I don't quite get why are you valueing haste now more than mastery? Is it only to be able to "spam" GH/PoH more? (Which as you said, makes DS stacking easier?)
I don't quite get it, as stacking mastery would on the other hand just increase (DS) absorb amount per cast?
@TheCommanderSirow With more haste AND crit, we're effectively proccing MORE divine aegis shields, so yes I suppose mastery stacking would be serving almost the same purpose unless as in your case you would like to heal more via casting or throwing instants like preshielding. I am still experimenting with this build, will also keep updating!
Can you do one for ovoid with macros ,talent specs and I can't see the talants to see how many points you're specking into can you zoom in more also can you tell us what II mods you have everything looks so nice and neat thanks.
Bbobby14 I'n a Holy priest so I utilize PoH a lot, and I use if when I see a specific group take damage as when you cast it, it's only casting it on 1 group... Like say everyone in group 1 is taking a lot of damage, and group 2 is sorta just chilling there, use on group 1...
Indie in my raids, I raid heal as disc, and my question is when to use PoH. Do I only use it when "x" number of people need healing in a certain area, and is therefore more beneficial to use PoH, or should I keep casting GH unless there is 5 people who are taking damage (or however many targets PoH affects). Also Should I cast PoH, let the hot's finish (meanwhile cast GH) then once the hots are finished recast PoH?

Hmm i dont know if i am going to make this swap as my guild are not fully into FL content yet.. and so far as a disc priest i have been relying on shields alot i feel that making this swap will just put a damper on my healing and result in me going oom alot.. spamming PoH is a easy way to go oom.
@hardheadguy1 Use Fraps to record videos, I suggest you save the files to a separate hard drive to reduce lag that you will most likely get while recording. There are 3 (maybe?) versions of Sony Vegas you can buy, the cheaper one is 60 (maybe?) bucks, and will work GREAT. Hope this helps ^_^
I may not heal, but I understand completely what your saying. For example, your 4.1/4.2 guide said use Glyph of Power Word: Shield, which put a HoT on the target, can be reversed by using Glyph of PoH, which put DA on all affected targets and put a HoT on those targets too.
this is exacly how i play and have done for awhile now thats why i thumbs up this video :D also you could of mentioned that when you use your shield you get borrowed time meaning a faster greater heal. wich means you have a strong fast heal making flash heal pretty useless
well, i will be trying to do this build honestly. though i have a problem that i have been stacking upp all this mastery gear, but i will prob find a way. becouse the funny thing is that i heal that way u explained now but with all that unnessary mastery :P

@DeathCabDriverx Mastery is dependent on class/spec so it's different for each and thus hard to explain, haste however, is a little easier. Haste in a nutshell makes what your class does faster... for casters it decreases cast time of all spells and makes DoTs tick extra ticks, for melee it increases attack speed and for DKs rogues and feral druids it increases resource regeneration [runes for dk, energy for stealthies].

I completely agree with all of this, no doubt. In fact, I did this switch a long time ago, way before than this video and it has worked out pretty well. However, you say Crit takes priority over Mastery. I wouldn't agree. I think MST is still better than crit simply because Crit is an unreliable stat and an extra 1% may not help at all while Mastery will buff both our DA and our shields. I can't write much more due to this YouTube comment restriction, but these are my thoughts.

train of thoughts is mostly used for tank healing. step down from your horse son, and listen to when the experienced healers are speaking

Bbobby14 I'n a Holy priest so I utilize PoH a lot, and I use if when I see a specific group take damage as when you cast it, it's only casting it on 1 group... Like say everyone in group 1 is taking a lot of damage, and group 2 is sorta just chilling there, use on group 1...

Indie in my raids, I raid heal as disc, and my question is when to use PoH. Do I only use it when "x" number of people need healing in a certain area, and is therefore more beneficial to use PoH, or should I keep casting GH unless there is 5 people who are taking damage (or however many targets PoH affects). Also Should I cast PoH, let the hot's finish (meanwhile cast GH) then once the hots are finished recast PoH?

Hmm i dont know if i am going to make this swap as my guild are not fully into FL content yet.. and so far as a disc priest i have been relying on shields alot i feel that making this swap will just put a damper on my healing and result in me going oom alot.. spamming PoH is a easy way to go oom.

@hardheadguy1 Use Fraps to record videos, I suggest you save the files to a separate hard drive to reduce lag that you will most likely get while recording. There are 3 (maybe?) versions of Sony Vegas you can buy, the cheaper one is 60 (maybe?) bucks, and will work GREAT. Hope this helps ^_^

I may not heal, but I understand completely what your saying. For example, your 4.1/4.2 guide said use Glyph of Power Word: Shield, which put a HoT on the target, can be reversed by using Glyph of PoH, which put DA on all affected targets and put a HoT on those targets too.

this is exacly how i play and have done for awhile now thats why i thumbs up this video :D also you could of mentioned that when you use your shield you get borrowed time meaning a faster greater heal. wich means you have a strong fast heal making flash heal pretty useless

Only suggestion is making macros for inner focus. I have macro'd inner focus with greater heal, flash heal, and prayer of healing.

well, i will be trying to do this build honestly. though i have a problem that i have been stacking upp all this mastery gear, but i will prob find a way. becouse the funny thing is that i heal that way u explained now but with all that unnessary mastery :P

@DeathCabDriverx Mastery is dependent on class/spec so it's different for each and thus hard to explain, haste however, is a little easier. Haste in a nutshell makes what your class does faster... for casters it decreases cast time of all spells and makes DoTs tick extra ticks, for melee it increases attack speed and for DKs rogues and feral druids it increases resource regeneration [runes for dk, energy for stealthies].

Hi Indie,
I completely agree with all of this, no doubt. In fact, I did this switch a long time ago, way before than this video and it has worked out pretty well. However, you say Crit takes priority over Mastery. I wouldn't agree. I think MST is still better than crit simply because Crit is an unreliable stat and an extra 1% may not help at all while Mastery will buff both our DA and our shields. I can't write much more due to this YouTube comment restriction, but these are my thoughts.

@NamikazeKyuuga i think heals got buffed so when you crit you heal for twice. It's a pretty valuable stat now, moreso than mastery anyway.
