International intelligence confirmed there was WMDs in Iraq, and they had used them before against the Kurds, so at least at one time they were there. The Taliban were using Iraq as a safe haven, both physically and financially. I'm not sure if you're aware of all the humanitarian effort being done in Iraq, but our troops are building schools, MOSQUES (yes Mosques), bridges, wells, hospitals, and all kinds of civic infrastructure. It's not hard to bury things in the sand, we are just now uncovering things that were buried during the Russian War in Afghanistan. The UN Weapons inspectors had to tell Saddam where they were searching, it's hard to believe they wouldn't get any WMDs out of there before the scheduled searches. And 95% of the insurgents attacking our troops in Iraq are foreigners from neighboring hostile countries, trying to cause trouble when all the Iraqis want is peace and freedom.

There's a no-Mosques policy that our troops abide by in theater, which means we don't enter and we don't interact or mess with Mosques. We just finance the civic repair and building of their country, and in a lot of cases our engineers and doing a lot of the work. @chavalalin I guess all those army airborne & cavalry divisions the swept thru and dropped into Iraq were figments of my imagination....I got plenty of stories about marines from my 15 months in Baghdad. I got blown up, shot at, bleed on, was stationed at a small JCOP southwest of Baghdad in the Triangle of Death for 6 of those months during the deadliest period of the whole war. Anytime you want to go toe to toe on combat experience I'm game, but I'd rather leave the shit talking to the POGs
