ofp 2 is a big shit, no history, stupid IA, no realism (a stupid healt bar? WTF IS THAT??) and less island terrain for do anything you want, in the original ofp there are like 150 mods and addons, is older and with more things, and in this june will earn 10 years of war simulation ^^

I love this game... I still remember day I bought OPF in "Gold Edition" right after it was released in Poland 8-9(?) years ago. I was proud of it, because it has additional cd with missions and other addons and cd with all musics and all was packed into nice solid box. I keep this set incl. carton box in my room right now, everytime I look at this game nice memories from past comes back ;-)

The original OFP will probably never be beaten by another large scale open world sim/ fp shooter. Sure newer games have better graphics, physics and sounds etc but the game play for the most part is what makes OFP so good, this can never be repeated again because OFP was the first game of it's type with such unique features and game play.

@TwistLosi I'd say ArmA 2 is better in every respect but one or two. The campaign isn't as awesome, and the community isn't the same. In OFP the community were just that, a community, they helped each other and made some amazing things. The community these days are largely a bunch of elitist snobs who think their work is too good to release, or it all has to work with the woefully buggy ACE crap. Even Mando refuses to make ACE stuff because they constantly break crap!

For example take out that fucking magical bullet wound healing >.< It's even worse than medal of honors water bottle healing bullet wounds (MoH is a great game don't get me wrong ^.^) I mean atleast you could do SOMETHING with the water, for example clean the wound but this magical healing is bullshit. You don't have to have magical healing to make an arcade game.

I would not compare OFP and Dragon Rising, because they are two different types of games. OFP is a great game, i can risk a statement, there is no better milsim game ever.

BUT Dragon Rising is a nice game too but more arcade, more comparable to Crysis.

If you wonder were the true Operation Flashpoint went. Check out the Arma series! Arma is made by the creators of the first Operation Flashpoint games! :) Codemasters just stole the brand Operation Flashpoint from them so they could exploit the name to create crappy generic FPS games :(
