Even Sprint knows that WiMax sucks (I say this owning a Nexus S 4G). That's why they're going with LightSquared to set up an LTE network, even though they already have a WiMax network.
Sure, if you catch the wind right and turn your head exactly 18.3 degrees to the west, you might be able to get 14-15mbit, but on average WiMax runs at about 1/3 as fast as LTE.
@stewie3128 I own a Nexus S 4g on Sprint too and I know of the lightsquared deal with Sprint. But the reason I got Sprint is for Unlimited Data. Att doesnt hav it, and I dont want to be paying 10$ per gb overages. I dont like tmobiles marketing, Its such a scam. Their "truly unlimted plan" is really a throttling plan. And Verizon is way to expensive, 30$ for 2GB, and up to 10Gb for 100 extra as a data package. Sprint is putting Clear on Life support, It can get rid of it whenever it wants.
@stewie3128 Clearwire is not owned by Sprint, not made by Sprint either. Sprint does not own its 4g network, so It would not have any reprucussions of abandoning Wimax. But Lightsquareds technolagy is in testing, and has to be passed by the FCC. Even if it did pass, and have its network built out, it would take an estimated 2 years. So you didnt exactly get ripped off and been sold an outdated phone.
your not supposed to test any 4G data spees test's close to each other or better yet at the same time, doesnt matter if its the same network or not it could disturb the frequencies & other things happen so its better to just follow the rule, things like this happen you have 2 phones on the same network except one phone hogs up or messes with the others frequencies.
It also should be noted that the spectrum channel that 4G uses will have interference just as wi-fi does. It runs on the 2.5ghz band which has a lot of interference, and when your putting two devices next to each other, your causing a huge interference.
Speedtest servers are inconsistent. For those that didn't realize this, both phones are running a speed test on different servers. In certain areas local and non-local severs vary in speed greatly.

Its not your phone, its sprints network. I have a nexus s on T-Mobile and I get blazing fast internet speeds on T-Mobiles network

My Nexus S4G has gone over 10mbps in certain areas. So again this test is highly inaccurate.
