beautiful trilling @1:32. Why doesn't she trill anymore? She truly is capable of subtle nuance. During Don Pasquale two weeks ago I don't remember hearing her trill, and sang right over the coloratura embellishments.

Netrebko's voice is ideally suited to Bellini! Her poor diction does not seem so irritating here, her marvelous acting skills, however, mediate the amazing emotionality of this scene. Very good, Anna!

lumosmaxima, her trick is called real talent. You should listen to her more. Her Lucia at the MET was sensational and her Sonammbula and Traviata too. Actually she is great everywhere. Her Russian album is superb. Anna's voice is unique with a wonderful silver sound and her acting is amazing. She was nominated operas leading lady (that is number1) in a March 27th of 2009 story in the Times (UK) titled The 20 Best Classical Divas.

J etais hier a l opera Bastille pour voir la version avec Cofi. Didonato est magnifique. Son chant est parfait.

Il faut tenir en compte que Netrebko est enceinte de 6 mois sur cette video. Voila pourquoi d ailleur elle a annule sa derniere prestation. Le spectacle fut merveilleux.

Cela n'a pas de sens de comparer un soprano léger (les vocalises sont inaudibles au 2e balcon) avec un full lyrique. Admettons, stylistiquement un rôle sûrement surdimensionné pour Netrebko. Ciofi est émouvante mais la voix est très abîmée, voilée, pas de bas medium ni de grave, des aigus obtenus dans la douleur, pas de contre-note (?). Netrebko est à l'inverse très facile et puissante avec un medium superbe, des surraigus et des aigus piani exceptionnels mais les vocalises sont un peu raides.

I saw it on the premier, I was very diapointed by Robert Carsen for his stage production but of course Netrebko and DiDonato maid up for it! There were moments that you wundered who was singing, the soprano or the mezzo. I was really stunned by this beautiful dark voice of Netrebko, I knew that It would be amazing but this was the most beautiful sound I've heard!
