@kaiserman9 Try 68w, Combat Medic, it would give you a "combat" MOS and job skills an qualifications that you could use in the civilian world. Make sure to get actual combat medic in your contract though, and go through and READ YOUR CONTRACT ,this applies to everyone regardless of service. Otherwise you could be assigned to basically be a nurse.
@Vdubb Uh no..nursing is a 4 year degree at least as well as an officer position...get your facts right. As a 68w you could be in combat your in a hospital its not really your choice...needs of the army...
@duneranger i never said in nursing, but you do get qualifications as an EMT. And those who stay in longer can earn nurse quals, plus ER and trauma nurse quals. It all depends on the soldier and how far he wants to take it.
@Vdubb You said be basically assigned to be a nurse. Nurses and medics are no where close to each other in terms of responsibility and pay. I was just pointing that out. They can earn those quals but it will be after they do 4+ years of college (unless you go LPN instead of a traditionally RN). Being a medic first however, does help you start that course with more experience then someone off the street.

I am currently in the Delayed Entry Program, graduating w/ my masters in May (going "Green to Gold") Shipping out on 20090812, MOS: 11x Option 40 (Airborne. Rangers). And as for the comments from a Marine insulting the Army, we'll buddy we are all fighting the same enemy. The problem with the corps is that you are easily brain washed when you joined.
