  • I was wondering if you have a preference between tofu or tempeh. I've been told that tempeh is really incredible but I have no idea what to do with it! Do you have any recommendations?

  • Is this still sort of mushy after it's baked? I eat super-firm tofu regularly, but I press the heck out of it and grill it for a firm bite.

  • @Tabathawabatha It is firm and will stay together a lot better than before it is baked. But it's not chewy, it's easy to bite into.

    btw this recipe is golden :')) been looking for something like this! also, that was like, seemed more like a half cup of olive oil you put instead of a 'tsp' ... maybe the zombies contaminated my water and i cant think straight

  • @melanietube That just means drain the water out of it. Put a paper towel on the bottom and one on the top of it and place a plate or small book or something with a little weight but not too heavy on it and leave it for 15-20 mins.

  • @itsMinuteMaid this was to show how to make the tofu that we used in our quesadilla and our alfredo videos. Some people couldn't find the Tofu Lin where they lived, so we wanted to show how easy it is to make their own. We also have an upcoming video that uses this tofu. We did the same with the veggie broth video... make this tofu and add it to your alfredo. You won't be sorry!

  • God that looks so good. I love tofu!! When I started being vegetarian I hated it, tasted like dirty socks lol now that I make it RIGHT, it's comfort food. I took advice from that omelette video you made and added some mustard and worcestershire suace while it was cooking in a scramble, a.ma.zing! I became addicted to liquid smoke too, why eat disgusting bacon when you can just get the same taste from all natural juice? :D Just felt like gushing for a sec lol

  • "Ingredients hard to find": what is LIQUID SMOKE? Sorry, never heard of this over here... But I love your recipes all the same, lol. Greetings from (unfortunately still really not veganly) France ♥

  • @AAR112008 It's easy to find, first you get yourself a fire breathing dragon and then...just kiddin ;P. It's kinda like a marinade with a strong smoky BBQ type flavor. If you can't find it, don't worry. You can still make this tofu. Use some mesquite and maybe a little worcestershire sauce. It might not taste exactly the same but it should still be good!

  • @ZombieGate I lOVE DRAGONS, lol. Thanks for your advice ;) (although I have another "ingredient hard to find": "mesquite" - sigh). Guess I'll try without those: with the other ingredients it should be enough to be fine for me ♥

  • @AAR112008 Liquid smoke is the most delicious thing ever. I mean, you don't drink it, you drop it on stuff, like tofu, collard greens, tempeh, or whatever you want to replicate the flavor of bacon. It's amazing. Salty, sweet, smoky flavor. Well, thats why people like bacon--smoky salty flavor, may as well get it from the source, the smoke itself <3

  • @giantshimano Well, you don't wanna squeeze it so it falls apart. Put a paper towel down and one on top of the tofu. Then place a plate or something with similar weight on it for 10-20mins to drain the excess water.

  • I LOVE your channel! I just switched to a whole-foods diet somewhat suddenly. Whenever I get a craving for anything I used to enjoy, I always stop by your channel to get ideas. Made your lasagna rolls last week and it's just like my mom used to make. No joke. My own mom couldn't tell it was vegan :D
