its not as hard as you make it just download the xbox harddrives files and put em in your other harddrive then wack in the xbox and it will work

@aivesful not really. You need to have a hard drive thats either the iddentical size or larger of what you want to mod. For example you can't mod a 4GB hardrive to work as a 50GB or 250GB. Is that what you were asking?

This guy should have used heat resistant foam (or just regular packing foam to fill the gaps. that's all you need. This is why I save all my "packing material" when I buy stuff. 1/4 inch on both sides does the job quite nicely. no need for a "casing" from Hong Kong.

@c99armedflid if you have a 250gb harddrive that came with the xbox 360 why would you want to flash it or buy another one. You can't exceed the 250GB even with flashing

my pc wont boot up MS-DOS, ive got it on a usb stick and it tries to boot from it but then after a couple secounds it just skip it and tries to boot from cd and hdd, what can i do to make it boot from the usb stick? ive allready format the usb and put hackr on it.

@ClassicallyReviewed I did take my hard drive out and i allso got the bios screen up but when i choose boot from removable (usb) then it just kinda skips it and then tries to boot from cd and hard drive even though neither is in, and then it fails. btw i know i did the hackr thingy on my usb right as i tried it on my laptop (where the HDD im trying to format dont fit in) and it booted up from the usb just fine.

@khkenni so it booted up just fine from your laptop? You could use that then. But huh it did the opposite for me didn't work on the laptop worked on the desktop.

Why would you need to hack it? Lol Microsoft has their new firmware update that allows you to use a USB mass storage device without Xbox Firmware.. so this vid is kinda obsolete.

@QuantumEra For those of us that bought the 4gb slim, battlefield 3 refuses to install the graphics on the internal memory of the xbox because it is not considered "hard drive" space... just some flash memory crap. So there is still a need to have a hard drive, and therefore a need to have a cheap hard drive (& a need for videos like this that help people use said cheap hard drives)

@ZeeJayStudios Im not exactly sure but it should because there technically is no hacking you are just uploading the firmware to the hard drive yourself.

@ZeeJayStudios yes you download the firmware and install you it to the drive. You have different firmware choices because there are different firmwares that have the different sizes.

@lchevere90 well you do basically when you follow the instructions. But if you were thinking about partitioning it without the xbox firmware the answer would be no. And I don't believe it lets you partition it to your liking when you follow the instructions.

how bad can the hard drive wobble without casing? can it possibly break the connector by constant/excessive wobbling?

@athikbanget Well I would guess yes that there would be some damage. But if you insert the hard drive and have your 360 set up in a place where it wont get bumped or moved all the time, you should be fine.

@GregorBlacksmith It would only fall over if the hard drive was not inserted correctly, if you try to insert it, you would know if it when it was in because it makes a click noise. By the way thanks for the Hard Drive sell idea, I'll think about it .
