LOL I saw Invitation to a gunfighter tonight and I was glad that I saw it...I lovez me some Yul Brynner!!! I wish someone would upload this movie!!! Yul Brynner is the BEST!!!
One of the last of the American Classic Westerns, later to b taken over by the Spaghetti Western. All the actors were a treat to watch & it's theme, superior. Yul is a fave of mine.
Excellent actor, and superb films. You could put him in a crap movie, possibly the worst, and turn it into a masterpiece with him. I love his shooting in Adios Sabata. And the ending in Invitation to a Gunfighter was exciting. And that goes for the Magnificent seven too. Infact every film lol.
Yes, Yul Brynner was a tremendous actor, beautiful voice, wonderful screen presence. I wouldn't say however, that he was not well recognised. He was awarded an oscar for his portayal of the King of Siam in The King and I. The Magnificent Seven though, with all it's talented stars of the future - immortilised him!
I'll check that out, as watching this has made me want to dig through my old vhs and watch it again ( plus setting up the ancient video player lol) Thanks
For me, Yul was great in all his roles, he was a great actor, but unfortunately, he was not very recognized as he deserved and nobody wrote special scripts for his personality and ethnic :(
