The HeliSimRC works great in Linux with wine. Did not have any problems and can scale the window. Using Ubuntu 11.04 and whatever current wine is through the software center for Ubuntu. Changed the background to a dull and dark color so that I could see the helicopter better. Has several settings to tweak the flight characteristics. And you can save each one. Really good frame rate with Nvidia 9800GT and quad core 2.66.
I have the free FMS that came with my ESKY helicopter, but it doesn't have some features of your version. it is the same version though, but it only has about 5 models (there are none on the cd-rom drive, and i can't get the sky to work...its all the same grey color no matter what i do which makes it hard to see my heli/plane.
My question is....is the R/C Tech 6CH simulator the same thing as FMS?
This is the one i'm looking at buying is the R/C Tech 6CH, thanks
@cbrewer79 It should be the same one - you can download it for free from the FMS site. You can also download models from almost anywhere - google "FMS model" and you should come up with dozens of places to download hundreds of models.
@lovetraxxas Do a web search for the DLL name. Just make sure you do a virus scan on the file as there are a lot of sites that use free dll downloads to trick users into malware.
@stijnxd You'd have to look in the documentation for the simulator software you're using. I'm pretty sure FMS will support it, not sure if the others will.
Wowwwwwwwww I have been lookign all over internet for this and all over US and you guys are in my backyard .... Yeeeeeeeeeee See you soon in store keep up the good job
I've had a few of the 2.4GHz RTF models from Art-Tech and they've all worked well with no glitches. You could try to see how far away from the model you could get (on the ground) before you lose radio contact - you might have to have a buddy on a cell phone to tell you when you lose contact...
Ok well I did email them to see what they say about it so thanks for all that info but last question would there be a take off problem whn the air is thinner
Ok well last question my jet won't take off I live in southern Alberta and I was thinking that maybe it's the thinner air but I don't no and the first time I went to go take it off I got 150 feet from me and the rudder went to the side and it hit the curb at full speed and broke the nose cone and parts behind the nose cone and part of one of the canard what should I do???
Luckily, it appears that SN Hobbies is going to carry parts for that jet (the page is up for parts, nothing listed yet). Glue goes a long way with foam planes too, I've brought a few foamies back from the grave that way. EDF jets tend to need a lot of runway to take off, especially off of grass. My F-22 hates the grass I usually end up taking a few runs before it lifts off. You might consider reducing the travel of the nose wheel (moving the control rod to a hole further out on the control arm)
I figured it out but i just got the ef 2000 from sn hobbies and when the battery dies down does the plane beep cause it was beeping then soon after my battery died???
The plane (motor from the ESC) will beep usually only when initializing, or when put into a programming mode. An ESC is generally put into a programming mode when the plane is turned on and the throttle is set to a high position.
i really need your help!!!! i have the art tech simulator witch came with my ef 2000 but it wont even let me open up the fms setup what should i do please help!!
Do you have an NVidia card? You may have to disable textures. Not as pretty, but functional. Remember to try other freebies like Clearview, Heli-X and HeliSimRC.

Are those the accual frame rates of the softwares or is it just because your using a hypercam
traxxasfan321 11 months ago
@traxxasfan321 The frame rate is much faster, the screen capture was just slow.

Hey, whats the trick to getting the Landscapes to work.
I have Vista(not sure if thats the problem) and the sky's are just a solid grey/blue, makes it hard to see the plane. Thanks
cbrewer79 1 year ago
@cbrewer79
Forgot to mention that "World" is the only one that even remotely works, but it has the grey/blue sky.
All other landscapes is completely solid white, like being in the Matrix.

The answer is yes, but it shouldn't be that significant unless it's a *very* hot and humid day. Lethbridge is about 3000', that's not too bad.
